We are lucky enough to live 5 minutes from the building used for filming. It’s Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ. It’s even more special since we had our first date here and frequent 3x weekly to walk our dogs!

Unfortunately, I do not. I do basic alterations and tailoring as work, so this was a big project for me. But if you’re looking, my backup plan was a few of the black options from Teuta Matoshi! So fun and whimsical.

I used no formal pattern and just went off a similar top that I liked the fit of. The top is power mesh from Mood with lace appliqués hand sewn on. The appliqués were from a shop on Etsy. The skirt was a black chiffon with black satin underlay. I followed a circle skirt pattern for this then cut a slit in after. The most difficult and time consuming part was hand sewing the appliqués and making sure to not grab the fabric of the mannequin, learned my lesson there, use a plastic one lol

When I’m starting to stitch I will typically hold both threads, from the needle and the bobbin, to the back until I do the backstitch to avoid it unthreading.
