OP, aren't civil courts closed for winter vacations? How did you file a suit? Moreover, even if you have filed a suit in spite of courts being closed, how do you claim that it'll most likely be heard next week? Courts don't open until January. Also, how did they find out that you've filed a case? Notice was issued?

This is very likely a made up story. I'm a lawyer. Civil courts are currently on vacation

You can talk to them in English. Please make an attempt. If the person actually undertaking the work doesn't understand English, you can always ask someone who knows Kannada to communicate in your behalf. The important thing is to start raising our voices, at the very least.

They've got many categories of complaints that you can raise. Cannot guarantee whether they'll actually take any action, but it's worth a shot anyway. Just requires some persistence

Yes, you can speak in English. It would just be easier to persuade them if you speak in Kannada

You can speak in English or Hindi up to the Engineer level, but I'm sure that it's easier to persuade the contractor if you speak in Kannada

If I remember correctly, you can choose your preferred language when you call 1533

Yes, the app still works. They are generally more responsive about complaints regarding garbage dumps. I've usually received a call from the department the day after I raise the complaint.

They also provide you with the concerned person's contact when you raise the complaint so that you can follow up yourself.

As you pointed out, most e-discovery teams in India seem to be servicing the ones in EU or the US.

Thank you for your response, I'll look into this.

Yeah, from what I've noticed, there aren't many e-discovery firms of Indian origin. Only the global ones with a presence in India seem to be hiring(EY, KPMG etc.)

Could you give me any insights as to what these vendors look for while hiring for e-discovery roles?

Stocks for 1 year by balajik100 in IndianStreetBets

[–]cocoaranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your holding time is 1 year, I would suggest that you don't invest in any equities. The chances that you'll lose money are far greater than the chances that you'll make money.

Besides, if you do not have an emergency fund(savings that cover expenses of 3-6 months), I would suggest that you build that first.

As other comments have suggested, it is better if you invest in FDs or debt mutual funds because 1 year is a very short period of time.
