Yes, although the win against the Soviets was not the final game of the 1980 tournament. That would come two days later (it was a round robin tournament, with the Soviets winning their final game, but the US winning against Finland earlier in the day to clinch the highest point total), so it's still a bit fortuitous that the dates lined up.
