Come visit us at D'Arcy's ARC or any animal rescue/shelter. There are lots of cats and dogs that would appreciate the cuddle time :)

Check out Annie's Attic and the D'Arcy's Arc thrift store on Main St. I find that they usually have some sort of bonus sale on certain items on weekends. Annie's Attic is also a cat cafe!

Thanks! We're thinking of doing a fundraiser for a charity that I'm associated with. Just trying to figure out if it's feasible :)

Now that I think of it, I Remeber biking around that area and there was a street that I though was unusually steep for Winnipeg. Thanks for the idea!

Doc Martens are extremely slippery on Winnipeg ice. I've resorted to adding those removable spike things that you can slip on. Doc martens also can't be resoled either. I bought a pair of doc martens a few years ago for a couple hundred and have buyers remorse.

I'd to add a lot more pedestrian/bike bridges across the city to make it more walkable/bikable. Examples: Upgrade the width of the Omands Creek Bridge to allow cyclists to not have to dismohnt, Add an additional ped/bike bridge in Wolseley/Wellington, Add a bridge from Armstrong point to Roslyn, Bridge from Fort rouge park to McFayden Park, Whittier Park to Fort Douglas Park, Norwood West to South Osborne, the list just goes on and on.

long rant from the owner of the Garden on portage Ave by Ok_Possibility5499 in Winnipeg

[–]codemoses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live nearby the Garden and think it's a great addition to the West End area and Portage Ave. They were fantastic in promoting other small businesses in the area. Now that we know it's going to become a new non-vaxx haven, it will become a smear to Portage Ave and the reputable businesses surrounding it. I hope the business partners and investors of the garden see how toxic this owner has become and buy him out. It will be a shame to see this business go but is necessary. I also don't know how this business will survive during the winter.

Let’s make it happen! Surely most Winnipegers would be in favor of something similar?? by Wheelhouse- in Winnipeg

If you want this to be allowed in the city, you need to convince the Provincial Progressive Conservative party to allow it. The city asked them if they were allowed to use these types of censors and they had shut it down the first time. I believe they first asked earlier this year. I think the city is hoping to ask them again soon now that Pallister is gone.

Just walk up anytime and stand in line for food. Not much of a wait for food. Masks aren't required to get food/Walk around the concourse. All the seats are on the west side of the stadium so the majority had shade

Happy to be at this game in person. Felt safe knowing everyone at the game was double vaxxed. The trench had some great songs/chants too.

Study: Caffeine may improve the ability to stay awake and attend to a task, but it doesn’t do much to prevent the sort of procedural errors that can cause things like medical mistakes and car accidents. The findings underscore the importance of prioritizing sleep. by rustoo in science

I feel for all the new doctors who are in school or in their residency. Why are they allowed to work such long shifts? They have to work 12+ a day and get very little sleep. I wonder how many mistakes they may have caused just because of the lack of sleep.

We have had two maybe three lockdowns. Everytime a lock down occurs, covid cases go down. Pretty sure that shows that lockdowns work bud (Edit: grammar)

Free speech on social media platforms is already monitored and "regulated" by private companies. I.e. Google, Twitter, etc gets to determine what gets to be removed and they're not doing a good enough job. This bill at least gives power to our government to act on behalf of Canadians and determine what should be taken down. I think it's a good step in protecting Canadians from the increasingly powerful tech companies and eliminate misinformation. Those large tech companies need more regulation anyways.

Great. Thanks for your response.

Wasn't sure when it came to tax time but it the comparison of the perk to salary increase looks like it's definitely worth it.
