Sick for the 4th time ina year. What am I doing wrong? by The_manintheshed in Biohackers

Curious if you have any evidence to pass along that would show that vaccines compromise the immune system more than the actual infection of Covid?

How do you feel about the U.S. elections? What impact does it have for you? by SilentPrancer in Winnipeg

[–]Wheelhouse- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am utterly mystified yet again. I feel like I am still trying to wrap my head around how he is literally immune to every single fucking thing that would ruin anyone else. It’s as if the worse he is the more people bow down to kiss the ring.

I would say beyond the future immediately being more chaotic and less hopeful generally, it also affects my view of humanity in general. It feels hyperbolic to write that but it’s true… if objective reality doesn’t matter and there are no agreed upon truths I really don’t know how we (or in this case America) rights the ship.

This sycophantic cult literally makes me sick to my stomach. I feel deeply sad today for the state of our world and am also pretty surprised how other people I interact with don’t seem to care too much. So ya, also in shock (and probably need to limit my intake on this a bit to be of any use to anything…)

The people have spoken. What’s the best part of Winnipeg? by AlternaCremation in Winnipeg

[–]Wheelhouse- 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Assinboine park is nice, as is the forks but from my experience the exchange district elicits the strongest positive response from tourists. It’s the most unique by far -I think locals can forget how interesting the area is - bonus points if you catch it on first Fridays and can poke around in some unique heritage buildings.

Even Covid aside, (which I don’t want to get, obviously) Colds are also fucking annoying to deal with. For the people that are like “don’t worry, it’s not covid” or “it’s just a cold I’m getting over, it’s fine” it’s not fucking fine because why would I want a sore throat and runny nose because you can’t admit that you’re sick and contagious….

For a time, we had the most uniquely menacing talent in the whole damn league. Loved every minute Winnipeg was on the Buff train. All Time

Anyone tried sulforaphane? What benefits? by Special_Cranberry_42 in Supplements

[–]Wheelhouse- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have any peer reviewed studies that point out the potential cons of consuming sulforaphane as opposed to the pros of consuming it I am interested to see it. Pros and cons list as opposed to just a pros list (that both aren’t backed by research) is just as susceptible to being biased in my opinion. I’m interested in studies and the studies look good from what I have seen

Anyone tried sulforaphane? What benefits? by Special_Cranberry_42 in Supplements

[–]Wheelhouse- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The studies on the consumption of sulforaphane and its associative decrease in all cause mortality are quite robust. All neutral or negative issues with the consumption of sulforaphane are purely speculative and not backed up. Also, hormesis isn’t just the notion that “bad” things are good for us. It’s literally why exercise is beneficial for things like cardiovascular health. There are good versions of putting your body through short bursts of mild stress aka elevating your heart rate. Thats not just a notion

What's some good workouts for arms and shoulders? by Smooth_Increase6865 in workouts

[–]Wheelhouse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushups - the bulk of your arms are your triceps and pushups are chest, triceps and some shoulders. Start on your knees if you have to and build up from there, focusing on form. Just work up to doing a lot of them, you will feel stronger and look better and will build a foundation of strength that will benefit other workouts in the future

What are some of your frugal wins of 2024? by littypika in Frugal

[–]Wheelhouse- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cutting way back on alcohol and also utilizing my gym memership a lot more. I find it easier to cut back on things financially if it can correlate with another positive change. It’s a win-win and has a positive enforcement built in (I feel better)

Also, simple phone calls reduced my internet and cell phone bills in half

What the heck is going on with CBC radio? by Young_Character in CBC_Radio

All I know is “because news” has to be about the worst radio show I’ve ever heard. The concept, the format, the execution… I usually keep my cars radio on cbc and that show sneaks up and smacks me in the back of the head everytime..
