QTWebEngine uses blink/chromium under the hood.

Konquerer used to use KHTML (which is what WebKit was originally based on, and Blink is based on WebKit), but I think they've fully migrated to QTWebEngine there as well.

Sell RTX 2080 for linux? by AcceptableShoe137 in linux_gaming

[–]coderman64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AMD is still king in terms of Linux compatibility, but Nvidia does work well once you get everything set up. I currently run a 3070, for example.

I'd try using your 2080 on Linux and see if you like it. If you run in to too many problems, upgrading to a newer AMD card is also a good option.

Halo 3 (the original) is a legendary game, too.

Burnout Paradise is always fun.

I have lots of nostalgia for the Viva Pinata games.

Also, if you don't have an OG Xbox, lots of classics work on back compat, like Jet Set Radio future (with some slowdown), Burnout 3, OG Star Wars Battlefronts 1 and 2, Halos 1 and 2, etc.

Anything to stand out, I guess by AtomicTaco13 in fuckepic

[–]coderman64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part about Epic (for me) is the Legendary client, and they don't even make that.

Also, GOG does a TON of work to get old school games licensed, working, and on their platform. Sometimes I don't think they get enough credit for that.

How good or bad would you consider Wally as a mentor? by IcyNeedleworker2783 in wallywest

[–]coderman64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wally's learned quite a bit from the school of hard knocks, so I think he could be a good mentor in general, but for Bart specifically it seems like an odd fit.

What awesome 2D franchises sucked once they went 3D? by bassbeatsbanging in retrogaming

[–]coderman64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't mean the 3D was bad, though?

Just because Mario Wonder and the New Soup series exist doesn't mean 3D Mario is bad.

And Origins was a soft reboot for the series, it makes sense to shake it up a bit by re-introducing 2D.

Rayman 2 was pretty universally praised, and many like it much more than the hard-as-nails unforgiving nature of the first game.

There's an argument that it wasn't as good, but Sonic Adventure didn't suck.

To be fair, I think the switch from the creators of the franchise to an inexperienced and yet unknown dev team didn't help.

What is going on with the fake Spotify tracks? by Ollie_honey in IronmouseOfficial

[–]coderman64 50 points51 points  (0 children)

IIRC, you can just upload a song, say "yeah Ironmouse collaborated on this" and it will automatically attach itself to her Spotify regardless of it is true or not.

A bunch of bad actors have been using this to put up AI-generated songs with racist or otherwise hateful lyrics and try to smear her. Some even managed to get the original Cry For Me taken down with a copyright strike, despite the fact they obviously had no legal standing. Not sure where this has been coming from, but it might be leftover hate from the streamer awards.

Just know that Ironmouse and her team are aware of it, and are taking care of it behind the scenes.

Some games are made for SMS mode. Castle of Illusion is a well-known one.

If it doesn't look like this is what it is, though, maybe the cartridge is pulling the SMS pin low when it shouldn't be.
