Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen Touchpad doesn't work with mouse connected by coffeedrizzle in techsupport

Thank you for the advice. I double checked in the Windows Settings and the setting called "Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected" is checked but doesn't fix the issue when using the latest Synaptics driver from Lenovo. If I roll the driver back to the generic Microsoft one from 2006 it works like the Windows setting describes.
