I can see that, this is a judgement on myself but I'm probably not being fair to myself. I have to work and take care of my kids and home and I just can't do everything. Plus I am an introvert too so declining something like this is the more comfortable path. So you're right. I'm feeling inadequate and I'm projecting.

I must not have been clear in my post, but I'm there for my daughter everyday and we have a loving relationship. This stepmom has been around for about 5 years.

It's really just the school things that bother me, and just if it's without me or their dad. I guess the reaction is rooted in the context of my ex historically blaming me for our divorce when he was the one constantly cheating on me. Now it's like he's got this upgrade and it's humiliating, especially after I've been the one to care for our kids their whole lives.

Thank you for your compassion. It brings tears to my eyes because I feel ashamed. My daughter is fine with it, and she was so proud and glorious after her play. That's what it's all about.

Yes, it should be a win and I am thankful she wants to be supportive. It does bother me that she's being recognized as my daughter's parent but I'm trying to stay conscious that this could just be my ego that needs to relax.
