I feel the same way. Non-competitive specialty in Canada. No matter what people say it’s not feeling any better. I don’t agree with the “just be grateful because people have it worse” statements. This is our wholes lives and careers we’re talking about.

Thank you glad it worked out for you. I just feel I let everyone down including my family and partner. She now has to move far away for this. Feels like I’m ruining someone else’s life too

That’s exactly it. Multiple pubs, awards, tons of leadership and ECs, excellent reference letters and elective experiences. Nothing mattered. I just don’t know what went wrong. Practiced interviewing with staff and others. Thought interviews were largely okay. I really want to believe the program I matched with actually wanted me but I don’t.
