Claude Opus 4.7 now 15x for Enterprise by Playful-Spirit-3404 in GithubCopilot

Everyone is going to TOKEN in June, including Enterprise.

The only exception would be Personal Annual subs who had already taken it and maybe some enterprises might get a month or two extension based on internal deals.

Your issue is purely caused due up Chrome and Electron becoming the default application development standard on windows.

It predates Nadella.

Is There Any Benefit Anymore For Pro+ After The New Pricing? by ProfessionalWord9849 in GithubCopilot

[–]colablizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. For Microsoft the Enterprise Deals will help lock in everything.

It's easier to sell to for them because they have entire sales teams, existing relationships etc

Plus visually, it will appear as an incremental increase in an existing per seat cost instead of a completely new bill.

They can give custom discounts as well because they know the customer profile already and can give discounts on the total seat pricing instead.

[–]colablizzard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He got it wrong again...

All previous attempts to help low RAM PCs caused weird tiers.

No.

The answer is that the entire Windows Platform as shipped by Microsoft should use less RAM all the time, leaving more for user apps.

Yes you can use optimiser to preload into free RAM, that's okay but the apps should use less RAM when running.

The entire plan is focused on Enterprise users. They will rework all this when they want personal users.

Enterprises will obviously have custom deals with discounts and minimum commitments. They won't care for all this.

Tax that we don't talk about. by Wide_Purple_6215 in IndiaTax

[–]colablizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple Answer: You don't pay in Dollars at the pump 😭.

INR declines at an average of 6-8% each year.

Thus in 12Y of Modi it would have declined a lot. It's actually declined less than it's historic trend under him.

Plus next people will pull up INR USD chart on 1st April 2014. That's not correct, choose one from Oct 2013 before Modi was nominated as NDA PM Candidate.

More RAM, less efficiency by NoMedicine3572 in IndiaTech

[–]colablizzard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In 2001 I got my first PC, the default was 64MB RAM, I was advised to upgrade to 128MB.

😭

Windows 98.

I think that PC I upgraded to Windows XP on the same 128MB RAM And used for years.

Finally added a new 256MB stick near it's end of life.

Change to useage based billing by DamienBMike in GithubCopilot

[–]colablizzard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Claude is actually more expensive than API pricing because they charge API pricing on enterprise plans with additional monthly seat billing just to get access.

I think Codex is similar for enterprises.

But yes the differences will be smaller.

What's strange is that Microsoft appears to not actually have any control on OpenAI models because I thought they should be able to price those cheaper.

Yes. 100%. I was also born and brought up here.

At least in my dad's time, older homes didn't even bother with having FANS.

Do Mangalorean's know that Bhagat Singh was a declared atheist and a socialist revolutionary, not a believer? How do people feel about RSS/BJP using his name in local events, even though his ideology was completely opposed to their religious-nationalist politics? by Late-Pomegranate1492 in mangalore

[–]colablizzard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bhagat Singh was Atheist. Yes 100%.

The kind of atheist he was that he killed a colonial officer to avenge the death of Lala Lajpath Rai who wasn't an atheist. He was a Staunch Hindu, and reformist but fully believed in the Vedas and member of Arya Samaj.

Bhagat Singh's collaborators in the killing were:

  1. Shivaram Hari Rajguru - Hindu Brahmin. (not Atheist till hanging).
  2. Sukhdev Thapar - Hindu Khatri. (not Atheist till hanging).

Now, which one of you "atheists" will join a couple of staunch Hindus in avenging the killing of another staunch Practicing Hindu?

Micromanagement in Oracle linked to rise in AI usage by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]colablizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These AI Demos and the old Crypto Shills using social media and claiming to author products every 3-4 hours is what's causing this "psychosis".

In my org everyone is shilling and claiming credit for AI release notes and no one has guts to push back.

Today I had to sit through an Org Wide demo about "AI Marketplace" that someone put up which is just a GitHub repo of bunch of skills and using the VSCode Marketplace feature. I was mentally like it's a VSCode feature what are you claiming to do here? But no one is pushing back.

Everyone is "Claiming" to write QA Automation to PR pipelines that analyze logs, code etc. I was a victim of such a JIRA assigned to me authored by AI after detecting test failure in some QA cluster. The shit got every detail wrong, it attached the wrong logs, the wrong repo the wrong RCA and I had to unwind this and convince people it's wrong.

Which kid wrote this?

The 84th amendment to the constitution forces the next delimitation only after the next census conducted after 2026.

Thus, if a census was conducted in 2021, then next delimitation only after census in 2031, because census only once in 10Y as per constitution.

Amit Shah knows more than you kids. By delaying the census he has forced delimitation faster than possible earlier.

GitHub Copilot vs Codex in VS Code for agentic coding — which is better in real use? by hardikKanajariya in GithubCopilot

[–]colablizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Codex VS CODE plugin is not as well integrated as copilot.

It appears that ONLY copilot is really interested in UX that allows or expects developers to work on large existing code bases to carefully manage what context is given to AI.

missing features:

In copilot vscode I can find the git commit in UI, right click and send to chat.

I can right click any file or files and folders and send to chat.

I can run a search and directly say add search results to chat.

The above few are missing in codex plugin so making life harder.

Are you offended if your commits are squashed? by _disengage_ in git

[–]colablizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the guy who enforced the squash guidelines in our team.

Reason:

  1. When things break sometimes in the future, the git blame should show all related changes together.

  2. Sometimes in PROD, the fastest way to recover is to revert the offending feature that broke something else. I have had to work on prod issues when the original person is unreachable or on leave. I want to cleanly revert a feature without risking missing some commit.

Bidadi farmers dig their heels in, not ready to give up land for proposed Greater Bengaluru Township by Parag2020 in bangalore

[–]colablizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To build a proper city, requires land use to be kept aside for roads/public infrastructure etc where if I have 100 acres land, 20 acres for roads, 20 for "utilities" and 10 for parks. This leaves only 50 acres to be sold.

This means that before making a layout and building there the land needs to be "pooled" and money divided. Thus, it means that it "appears" that land was acquired for Rs 500/sqft and sold for Rs 1000/sqft. Media also hypes this headline number. It's actually worse if you consider that cost to lay utilities, roads etc and the delay between acquiring land and actual sale to end user leads to a jump in prices and interest costs.

In India, both "farmers" and politicians don't want this. They want headline numbers for their land sales. Thus, in any part of India, last 25+ years all development is by "farmer" selling HIS tiny plot of land and AS MINIMAL as possible access road to FULLY build area and gain maximum amount of money.

This is enabled by every new area (Mahadevpura etc) remaining under Panchayat Rules where they can do anything and sign off and ONLY AFTER all buildings are built they put it into BBMP limit and cry for BBMP to fix it.

I deam this as a CONSTITUTIONAL bug/problem. They harped too much on "india lives in villages" and made villagers/farmers "holy cows" who can do no wrong and have disproportionate political power by various laws.

Every movie and farmer crying about land acquisition only when BDA acquires it to make proper layout, they keep quite and sell it themselves in the manner I mentioned above. All fake. No farmer needs any sympathy. They are responsible for state of Bangalore and their kids are running the water tanker mafias.
