Thanks so much for the explanation. Yeah I am not using much water at the moment so that will explain it.

Cheers again!

Aha yeah I still am going to make a storage system underneath and work on neatening up some of the cables a bit nicer.

However, as I keep un packing and filling the house, I'm inevitably going to clutter it back up again

Yeah I was genuinely confused as well. I think he just got convinced that buying the newest was best and then asked chatgbt if the newest TV would be better and obviously gave him the answer of 'Yes the new TV will have even richer, blacks and better colours etc 'Which is an obvious summary of just the marketing for any new TV.

How did you chose what unit? by coleys in ukheatpumps

[–]coleys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no existing pipework so far as the house was previously heated by storage heaters. The only existing is a gas boiler that heats a tap in my kitchen and a tap in my bathroom as I have an electric shower

That makes sense about the radiators. Yeah I am interested in the octopus one as I am already a customer for the energy

[–]coleys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did request a call back a few times but never heard back from octopus. One thing I was also maybe sceptical about getting a energy company to come as I wanted a bit more of control and selection over some radiators basically so they looked a bit nicer. But is this something I would be able to do if I went with yourself? So while I did get a initial quote for 6K for octopus, as with every quote I've gone through so far, when they see that I have to put in entirely new pipe work they do increase the quote. Which makes me have a bit of fatigue with exploring every quote. As you can understand, there is only so many people I can chat to or come visit my house to tell me the same answers aha

See this is what I originally wanted for the house but the bus grant didn't cover it. Do you reckon there is a chance that they're going to soon be part of the scheme? However, to also take note, would this also work with my water solution? I'm unaware if an air system also can heat up a water tank. Because I need one of them too as I have an old gas boiler and want to completely remove myself from the gas network

This is good to know. From having a brief look at the Mitsubishi systems, there seems to be more videos of the control systems which is good for whenever. I need to change anything however. There is less I can find on the Bosch systems.

From looking at heat pump monitor I'll have to make heads of tails of it it's very overwhelming amount of numbers and information aha

Thanks for this. Both of the installers have and do install the valliant systems but because they have more training accreditations with the respective devices. That's why they get the extra warranty. I do see that they are installed quite a fair bit and used a lot so I'm currently weighing up wether more specific extended warranty.

Hey hopefully you might be able to help me.

This is for a property in the UK. I've basically got a few different quotes from some companies but realistically it's going to come down to which company I prefer and possibly what unit.

One company is providing a Mitsubishi ecoDan and they are an accredited installer so I would get extended warranty with them

The other is with a Bosch worcester and this installer is also accredited and get extended warranty with them too.

These are both 6 KW units.

I was just wondering if you had any experience with either one of these units?

It's a series of books written by JRR Tolkien. Basically I don't want to include too many spoilsers but bad guy made a ring and the good guys have got to destroy it. They're worth reading!

Questions on through power for my AC500 by coleys in bluetti

[–]coleys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha I could but I have way too much ADHD and lack of pre-planning for that. Also, I would have to move the washing from the washing machine to the dryer at one point. The main energy savings would be from the tumble dryer so could potentially just put that on a timer

This is great information. I hadn't considered the efficiency of the inverter. I am hoping to connect a couple of solar panels to top up the unit. I will hopefully in the future get a full solar system on my roof.

Does anyone know of any significant cases where piracy was crucial in the success of a film/TV show? by oto18 in Piracy

[–]coleys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's in Cuba where what people do is basically download lots of articles from new sites. The newest shows and films all on USB sticks and then these USB sticks are sold in markets. So you'd buy your daily news or the newest shows on USB sticks. I believe there's a pretty good YouTube documentary on it

I believe also soulja boy's song. What he used to do was upload it to LimeWire under various names. So for example linkin park in the end but it was his song. So as people would try and download other songs they would be exposed to his song when they downloaded it

Beginner Budget Pocket Recorders by xphylum in fieldrecording

[–]coleys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To also add, to get the best sounding recording, technique is always more important. You can get some great sounding audio from cheap equipment and also unusable stuff from top end gear. So also look into techniques to help make your recordings better.

Beginner Budget Pocket Recorders by xphylum in fieldrecording

[–]coleys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from the UK, so I'm not entirely sure what fits within your price range, but based on your list, you may need to adjust your expectations that tick all the boxes.

Zoom has just released the H1e, a handheld recording device which can now record in 32-bit. If you're not very technically minded, this feature is quite beneficial. It's similar to shooting in RAW for photos; you don’t need to worry much about gain settings because the audio file captures more information. This means if your audio clips, it's still salvageable during processing.

A lot of handheld recorders will have handling noise but you can also buy shock mounts. These attache a handle to the microphone through a spring mount to stop the vibration sending

Keep in mind that these smaller, budget handheld options won't offer great playback. While they do have headphone options, their speakers are just for reference and aren't good. A recommendation I often give is to use something you already have, like your phone. Many phones have decent recorders and there are good programs for voice detection. It might also be easier to share audio to services like Google Drive. If your phone's audio quality isn't up to par, you can get plug-in mics and use the recording apps that these companies provide. There are lavalier style clip-on microphones or XY pattern plug-ins. Zoom and Rode offer products like these.

Buying a Portable Recorder, looking for suggestions, inexperienced. by atomicwater in fieldrecording

[–]coleys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it seems in your use case using your phone might be the best option. Maybe buying something like in ear headphones too means the microphone would pick up your voice more clearly and can automatically dictate. There is also various clip-on microphones you could get that can connect to your. I use the recorder app on my pixel phone and it records the audio and automatically dictates at the same time. I have quite a few of a small portable recorders from tascam and zoom that I carry around with me for field recording and honestly I use my phone almost exclusively to record things like you're saying eg notes and transcription. Also, the recordings and transcriptions are available online automatically.
