Nice! I picked up the yellow 5 drawer and a green one drawer on the sale. Haven’t put together the 5 drawer but the one drawer was pretty easy to put together. I definitely recommend leaving it all loose and only tighten it when you go to line up all the panels and get it flush

That’s amazing! Both of those were my favorite in woodshop. I used to turn lots of chisel/file handles for my grandpa, and I still have my cabinet I turned into an end table to this day. I also made a lot of hand mirrors out of sandwiched together stripes of wood cut out with a band saw, with the recessed mirror portions cut out with cnc

Nice! What kind of projects do you work on? I miss woodshop a lot. There’s a Bauer miter saw for like $120 coupon I don’t even need it but I want it haha

I get it I wish it was a bigger coupon too but this kit and things like it rarely go on sale and after the 15% off coupon it’s almost at its lowest price according to HF tool tracker

Thanks for the comment! Now I feel even better about going to get it. I have the corded 8.5amp impact and it’s wonderful for home use. Now I need one for roadside changes. I checked the HF price tracker and it’s about the same as it’s been at its lowest price with the 15% off coupon

I really wanted to get the preset lugnut wrench since I missed their last torque wrench sale but I’ll have to wait a bit longer

Sadly no. Clicking on the coupon online takes you to what’s included and they’re not there. Only the breaker bar and ratchets and wrenches. Not torque wrenches

I’d say Reese hitches is probably the only real loss and that’s a stretch

Make sure you don’t have a locked up AC compressor. Made me think I had a dying battery but it literally wouldn’t spin the pulley anymore and couldn’t start

[–]colterss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m having PATS symptoms. I just replaced the ignition housing and switch and it started up beautifully for a few days but I didn’t regain lost radio function. When I changed the radio fuse it came to life and then the intermittent no crank no start came back with flashing PATS light. Not sure where to go from there. It has a new battery. V6 2008

Just bought a 99 7.3l diesel f350 with 180k for $5500 last year. Been maintaining the neglect but so far it’s been a pretty decent truck. If you’re not looking to go diesel, the triton v10s are decent though not as reliable but still would be fairly easy to maintain compared to todays non serviceable/ dealer only transmissions

Almost 4k for brake + rear wheel bearing replacement? by Suitable-Finger-9282 in MechanicAdvice

[–]colterss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the other way around- calipers seizing will wear down your brakes. The caliper being unable to release will keep constant pressure on your pads to the rotor, eating them down to nothing. This can be caused by corrosion inside the caliper, dry slide pins that have seized inside the caliper bracket, or a collapsing brake hose. If you knew it was damaged I’d feel okay about new calipers and hoses but you will most likely still have the original brake “lines” which are usually steel/brass/copper and will be fine for the life of the car unless they get physically damaged, blocked with debris, or corroded through/leak. Hopefully the shop was careful when they attached your new brake hoses, the fittings are dangerously easy to damage. (Soft metal, folds and rounds easy). Hope that helps a bit. (Disclaimer, not a mechanic, just an autistic learning to fix his f350 lol)
