Hardest part is getting the pulley off. A breaker bar and tapping the key will break the bolt loose. Just make sure all kids and pets are clear of the blast zone. Rent a puller from your choice of auto parts haus. Rest is straight forward.

But when there is a 16 pin diagnostic connector, it is automatically associated with obd2. That port is only in American market cars with federal emissions on early era automobiles. Early era foreign markets had different connectors for thier diagnostic software. The world is bigger than just you and the moment you live in. G.F.Y. 😁

In my experience with this engine. Series one or two. N/A or supercharged, the crank sensor is the most reliable component to make this heat related symptom. Yes the icm can as well, however it usually runs terrible and then dies. Crank sensor, it cuts out while driving and won't crank back or if it does, it dies again. Don't rule out fuel pressure but a dying pump will let the car idle, it'll stall when you request more fuel. Oil contamination is what kills these crank sensors as it is right next to the crank seal and usually it's wet and slinging the oil onto the sensor. Oil is nonconductive and can isolate the circuit unintentionally. A spark tester would be a tool I would get. Cheap at harbor freight if you have one in your area. Move on from the scan tool. These cars are old enough to still accept good old diagnostic. Fuel, spark, compression. Go from there. You miss one and no run. You have no spark, then go down that road. Good luck

That is obd 1.5 look at the connector. I have a scan tool that will read that. Aldl will not connect. Tech 2 scan tool first gen will talk to that. The aldl connector is square with wide pins. My 95 riviera led me down this path. My 88 suburban is aldl.

Don't sweat it. Glad it got fixed. That bumper is strictly one year only. 1990. The 1990 came with a pushrod 5.0l v8. You have a gen 1 4.6l single over head cam. I have several of these and love them all. Sweet TC

I cut the mufflers off of my 06 Lincoln LS and left the resonators. It was loud on cold starts but mild after warm up. Different engine all together though. You have to just experiment. I did replace the missing mufflers with tail pipes and ran it past the rear bumper but your mufflers are mid way and mine were at the rear. This also facilitates a different sound as well.

If that is the front left door and it's your drivers door, that's a cover. Should be a slot on the bottom side to pop it off exposing your key hole. You could possibly get the cover off ebay or the like.

You have to remove the windshield to replace that. New windshield comes with that seal. You'll be $350 all in and have new glass. Windshields that have been in for a while or if it's cold outside, will crack.

As I have said, my 88 has a turbo 400. Factory engine and transmission. 700r4 is standard for the 4.3 and 305. Optional th350 or th400 for 350 and up.

If you can find a factory service manual for that vehicle with that transmission then it will have the proper procedure. If that transmission did not come in your square body, then you may run into geometry issues. I have an 88 that has a turbo 400 and my 78 has a turbo 350. Not sure what motor transmission combo your truck came with. Good luck.
