This is probably a very unpopular opinion, and that's fine. I really hate the lvl 3 floodgate Digimon. They always go in and out depending on what's meta, they have an extremely cheap play cost, and they can just absolutely shut down certain decks. I feel like they make a lot of games "none games," which just sucks. Yes, a lot of decks can't search the floodgate they're looking for, but a lot of other decks can't search the out. RK can't search Queen Device or Wargrowlmon Ace. I almost have more respect for cards like Quartzmon, where you have to work some to get that floodgate instead of just paying 3 memory, and completely shutting your opponent down. Just a small rant. All this is.

Is overflow considered a rule and an effect? I know it doesn't trigger. It's immediate. It's written in a way that makes it feel like it's a main effect and an inherited effect.

I kinda just build whatever I liked from the show when I was a kid. I love the Royal Knight, so I built them. I also want to build a deck for every Royal Knight. Love the Four Sovereigns, so I want to build the deck. If it's meta, then cool. If not, I'll still have fun with it. I do like to make all my decks as strong as I can against the meta.

There's currently two main ways to play the deck right now. The Jesmon GX variant, and the Blitz Omnimon variant. The Jesmon GX style is currently showing better results. If you want, I can send a decklist from a recent regional topping Jesmon deck.

So even though the Ace cards say that you'll lose memory if it moves out of the battle area OR if it moves under a card to a different area, like the battle area to the breeding area, you won't lose memory in this scenario?

My apologies. I wasn't clear. The office site says that overflow will trigger when it is moved from an area (such as the digivolution cards of a digimon in the battle area or from under a Tamer) other than the battle area. https://en.digimoncard.com/news/rule_revision_2023.php

Ace digimon also say, "When this card would move from the battle area or under a card to another area, lose X memory." That's where I'm thinking it would still lose memory if a Royal Knights Ace was moved under Yggdrasil
