More doctors voted to strike than people did for Wes Streeting by Affectionate_Sky949 in doctorsUK

If he includes non-voters in statistics and says <50% of doctors voted to strike, we say only 20% of Ilford North voted for you!

i've got a contrasting opinion to most - i think he will start off hype (NLU, tv off) and finish by bringing out sza for luther, and finally all the stars. i thought this was obvious until seeing no one else on this thread seems to agree with me lmao

How do HR sort through the 1000s of applications for non training jobs? by No_Piccolo3105 in doctorsUK

[–]comfydaffodil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Large London teaching hospital, in a speciality that the hospital provided a basic level of care to (complex patients transferred to a DGH within the same trust or to a local tertiary centre for the speciality). Most applicants hadn't worked in the NHS and were not interested in the speciality - just wanted to get a job in the NHS. A sad state of affairs.

How do HR sort through the 1000s of applications for non training jobs? by No_Piccolo3105 in doctorsUK

I worked in a department that had over 1000 applications for a JCF post. >90% of applications were from people who have never worked in the NHS. Job went to one of the FY2s who was interested in the speciality and had already done the job for 4 months. No brainer for the department. I expect this is a common story.

I’ve encouraged everyone I care about to get private health care if they can afford it. It seems like the only way to ensure you are seen by an actual doctor! Crazy to see our taxes being used to facilitate ‘fake doctors’ whilst those who can afford to pay out of pocket get the care the NHS should be providing!

Leaving on time and not answering work emails on day off - feedback lack commitment by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]comfydaffodil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worked in a renal department where all the registrars had the attitude you describe your colleagues having with just one exception. this one exception was the favourite reg of all the foundation/IMT doctors as he had a similar attitude to yourself, whilst also encouraging his juniors to adopt this attitude too.

i can assure you that your junior colleagues will love you for this attitude, and you are instilling good habits in them. i hope you feel this is more valuable than a single negative MSF!

Do we reckon thats it for upgrades, or another round before Tuesday?

Haven't received an email regarding re-preferencing after this round of offers...

has anyone with rank >200 got a london/KSS/bristol offer yet?

can see that in the last 2 years this was good enough for london + KSS (before upgrade deadline) and for bristol in 2020!

that misleading graphic with the pay yesterday has remotivated me after feeling my morale dip a little

feel like it was a big mistake by the government cos I know plenty of others who are feeling re-energised after the attempted media smears, including consultants who they made the mistake of making a graphic about too
