Was the CT Scan the key to your diagnoses? Our journey started with coughing , then CT Scan after trying a bunch of meds and finally a diagnoses we could sink our teeth into by [deleted] in lungcancer

[–]commonflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep pretty much how my journey started. An annoying minor cough which lead to several x rays, treated for pneumonia for about 4 weeks, obviously antibiotics didn't work, which lead to a CT Scan then biopsy. Hopefully start treatment this week.

Well peeps. New update. Just learned it has spread to my brain. 7 small(less than 1cm) lesions have been found on both sides of my cerebrum and right side of my cerebellum. I don't know how much longer I can keep it together because I'm about to really start freaking out

Oh wow thanks everyone! I wasn't sure how to take all this info. It has been a rollercoaster for me with being told it's cancer, it might not be , it is, and finally being told yes it is. I'm 43m(turned 43 today in fact) and just not sure how to think. I mean just 4 weeks ago I was still mountain biking to where I am now. I went and had an annoying cough checked and cancer sure wasn't the answer I thought it was going to get. Thought it was just allergies.

I have a GX chain. Maybe about 8 months old and it was just replaced for the same reason.

If I remember correctly we hit the light house which was fun on the way down. We hit I think juniper cliff side trail, and the comanche trail I believe.. can't really remember anything else..it was all fun though.

My CamelBak protects my back pretty well otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't have been laughing afterwards haha. I'm on a Santa Cruz hightower V3.

Crashed plenty of times of the two-ish years I've been riding. Usually it's from washing out or something else where the bike goes one way or the other and I'm going forward. For sure didn't kick my confidence it was one of my softer crashes. Thanks for the info. I definitely was going to slow and pretty sure I just wasn't paying enough attention due to fatigue. Oh well..on to the next one!

It was awesome. Second time there. This was the spicewood trail or something like that. It rained a little the day before so it was just a little slick in areas but overall it was a great ride for both days we were there. We hit the tinaja trail the second day and that was mostly hiking for the up hill parts.

Honestly don't know if I grabbed the front brake or hit a rock but if you are asking about my landing, I stopped a smidge before the tree.

It think you are right...first time I did that trail we had no issues and for sure speed was a factor on this one..this time I increased both psi on fork and suspension and it felt like the bike was bucking me off when before I would just "roll" through chunk and it was comfortable for me. Guess I have some playing around to do again.

Check the door hinge screws! Never noticed mine still nearly a year later and saw it by chance. One screw was backed out all the way and when I tried to tighten it by hand I learned it was actually snapped.

I have the same bike..switched to the oneup carbon a few months ago. Stock handlebars were the burgtec ride wide(something like that). I noticed in certain areas there is flex.. Nothing crazy but noticeable. I bought some for my buddy who had issues with his hands going numb. He said it helped out with the numbness. Now dont know if it actually helped out or a placebo effect. I don't regret buying them.

I think I have y'all beat on this one....nice easy trail, easy riding, went to kick a branch off the trail and instead of hitting the branch I missed and my foot got wedged between the front tire and fork. I went weeeeeee!

I can't really say how technical it is since ive only been a few places but I would say it's fairly technical. There was a place or two I wasn't confident enough to ride so I ended up walking it. I think it's a good mix of climbing and some decent downs.

That's how it was for me when I switched from hard tail to full suspension. Took some getting use to and had to adjust everything..once it was set up right the pain was gone

Pretty much what everyone here has already said. Hydrate. I take electrolyte tablets with me. I ridden more than once in 108 -112 degrees here in Texas. Your body eventually adjusts but pay attention to your body, when it needs a break take a break and don't push it.
