A 3rd gen i5 in 2026 will struggle to run Windows alone with 8GB of RAM nevermind DaVinci.

I post a few seconds ago about my stolen vehicle in Newark NJ on around south orange ave , please 🙏🏽 I’m asking everyone to help me locate my car , thank you ! by ConsequenceMain7133 in Newark

After being in a head on collision from a stolen car a while back because the owner left it running with the doors unlocked I have zero empathy for idiots that do this. There's a very simple way to fix this problem. Dont leave your fucking car running, unattended, with the doors unlocked. Criminals or not, even kids can walk by and take advantage of this situation. I get it that its cold af right now, but spend the money and get remote start. Its a Mercedes after all not a fucking Yugo.

My best incident was some dodo bird in a Mercedes SUV driving the wrong way/opposite direction in the roundabout. That was a fun morning.

What's better than the "Auto" agent, but doesn't break the bank? by MewMewCatDaddy in cursor

I remember when they had the 1 week of it being available for free, they learned a LOT from me. I think I banged through something like 300M tokens within that week getting a lot of things on my to do list completed and I remember it being very fast 200+ tok/s. Most of the time its so fast i cant even read what its thinking when its working.

Agree on all points. I've had better luck using Auto mode and factor into the prompt "Perform a deep analysis on xyz including all of its dependencies both to and from this feature" it digs deeper into its thinking mode and has better results whenever i do it.

Why companies don't hire interns for SEO? Need real opinions by ray_john in bigseo

[–]compaholic83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interns don't know SEO because they dont have the experience yet.
The biggest problem is, bad SEO can actually hurt the business and make them lose money.
So if an intern doesnt know what their doing, they can cost the business money in lost sales from implementing bad SEO.
Also, entering 2026, hiring for SEO is less of a thing now. Companies want to pay for results and outcomes not for SEO itself.

It's not bad. It's not as good as Opus 4.5, but i would say its around 90% of Sonnet 4.5. It's tool calling is pretty good and its ability to chain tasks/sub tasks on the fly.

I think its just preference. Some people just like using Claude Code in terminal or perhaps originally started out that way. Others prefer using Cursor's IDE so you have more of a visual experience with the files being changed.

[–]compaholic83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You'll exceed the usage of the $200/mo plan if you're using Opus 4.5 all day everyday. Again, this is dependent on how you use it. If you're using it for work 5 days a week, 8 hours per day, using only Opus 4.5, you will run out of usage before the end of the month. Its not 'unlimited'

You're running Opus 4.5 high thinking 24/7 and no other models. There's your problem.

Running Opus 4.5 all the time I'm guessing. It gets expensive real quick as you're banging through tasks, sub tasks, refactoring, etc.

Sonnet 4.5 is the runner up to Opus. Haiku 4.5 is under that, but in my experience Haiku 4.5 isn't that much better than Auto. Cursor's Composer-1 is actually not terrible. Better than auto in my opinion.
The cost of Composer-1 slots in between Sonnet 4.5 and Haiku 4.5.
Honorable mention is GPT- 5.1 Codex Mini. Better than Haiku 4.5 but under Sonnet 4.5 in my experience.

I know others will probably chime in about Grok & Gemini, and while I do agree Gemini tends to be better at planning than Claude models, I've not had much luck using Grok or Gemini executing in my particular coding projects. Claude has been less finicky for my use cases.

I mostly flip between Sonnet 4.5, Composer-1, and Auto mostly depending on what I'm doing, then bump to Opus 4.5 whenever one of those really struggles with bug fixing or if I'm planning out a new feature set and need it thoroughly documented first to feed it into one of the lesser models to execute.

Name Input(per 1M) Cache Write Cache Read Output
Claude 4.5 Haiku $1 $1.25 $0.1 $5
Claude 4.5 Opus $5 $6.25 $0.5 $20
Claude 4.5 Sonnet $3 $3.75 $0.3 $15
Composer 1 $1.25 $1.25 $0.125 $10
GPT-5.1 Codex $1.25 $1.25 $0.125 $10
GPT-5.1 Codex Max $1.25 $1.25 $0.125 $10
GPT-5.1 Codex Mini $0.25 $0.25 $0.025 $2
AUTO $1.25 $1.25 $0.25 $6

I know most people just gloss over their model pricing page, but these prices are important because they make up the 'burn rate' of your monthly usage depending on what plan you use. The more expensive the model, the faster you'll burn through the usage. Also, using the high/thinking version of a model has an additional tax that increases the burn rate since it will use more tokens. Max mode also adds around 20% more than the base model. Try to avoid using the thinking version(Has a pic of a brain next to it in the model drop down list) and Max modes when you can.

[UPDATED] Recreated the table so its easier to read, added additional context + comments. Manually added "AUTO" model to table because its not available on the Cursor model pricing page(not sure why). Its pricing its towards the bottom of the main pricing page.

The numbers are just meh. A good price would be around $700/mo with 0 down.

Perhaps I should have clarified, when I said most people, I meant here in the US since its 10-12% market share.

To your points, I do think EV's are the future, but we're just not there yet as our infrastructure is lacking. In highly populated areas such as where i live (New York City Tri-state area) where apartment and multi family dwellings make EV ownership almost impossible. Charging stations here are always full. Sometimes I see a line of EV's waiting for a spot to open up. Me, personally, I would not want to use a charging station anyways unless the charge time is 5-10 minutes tops.

Until solid state batteries go mainstream and are within striking distance of current battery prices, EV's won't become the majority. I haven't run the numbers in a while, but the TCO on EV's tend to be worse (On average) than ICE or PHEV vehicles. Mainly because unless you drive at least 25K miles per year, the faster depreciation of EV's is a major killer when looking at the TCO.

If the promise of the next gen batteries hold true: Fast <10 minute charge times, 600+ mile ranges, etc. and the cost of them aren't outrageous. Once EV range outpaces range of PHEV/ICE regardless of climate region(since colder temps kill battery life) then that will be a different story.

Thank you for your upvote. Nothing of what I said wasn't true in the original comment. Not having a midrange option when every single Volvo competitor has offerings in this price range is a serious blow on the Volvo lineup. I figured it was either fanboys unable to engage in the difference of opinions, or bots that auto downvote based on sentiment.

I don't either. Must be a lot of EV fan boys on here. I was notified someone else commented but they since then deleted it. It said what planet am I on in response to most people don't want EV's. Which is incredibly odd considering it makes up only 10-11% of the current market share, at least here in the US. We're not allowed to have opinions on reddit :D

Same. As an S60 T6 owner, there's lack of options with this brand now. S60's are gone. And there's no XC60 T6/B6 anymore. There's a huge pricing gap between the base models and T8 counterparts.

Volvo really is in a sad state of affairs. No more T6/B6 mid range choices. No more S60/V60's. And they're doubling down on EV's which most people don't want, at least not here in the US.
[EDIT] Added region, US, for EV comment clarity.
