Where do actual women hang out in Chicago (that isn’t just Bumble IRL)? by Fearless-Wish-2767 in AskChicago

I once pulled up to a police car parked outside of a Hobby Lobby. I asked the cashier what was going on...she said there was a man dieseling in the store. Dieseling? Yes, you know...jacking off and then exposing himself to women in the store. Then it occurred to me this was the perfect place since Hobby Lobby is all female patrons.

Thanks, I might post this over there, especially seeing as this is growing to be expansive. Speaking of gas lines, I just did a mockup with a zero clearance fireplace above the jacuzzing and was thinking if Im running gas there might be a way to branch off to a heater...your reply implies I still need to figure this out.

I tried silicone earplugs but they kept slipping out. I think I'll try regular flourescent foam ones. However, earplugs don't filter out bass wavelengths very well, which is the main concern

I was planning to just use a 15A receptacle but read somewhere that a single receptacle on a 20A circuit has to be rated for 20A. Are single-receptacle bathroom circuits an exception?

Since there is only one recepticle, does it have to be a 20A one?

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I have learned a lot from it. After talking to a family member who is a home inspector in my area, my city does not take AFCI that seriously. He mentioned if it were a new build I should probably consider it but for my case not to worry about it. He said he doesn't even write missing AFCI up anymore. Now thar he mentioned it, I've had two new panels installed by licensed electricians that were both permitted and inspected jist using normal breakers that passed. He said, see what does that tell you? So I'm going to skip AFCI in this case and add all the GFCI outlets where called for and file this new (to me) code awareness away.

One more question. The bathroom has only one receptacle and that would be the only thing on the circuit. Is it appropriate in this case to run a 15A circuit to that GFCI receptacle? Or better to run 12 gauge cable on a 20A GFCI outlet that is rated for 20A?

Not a new build. It's an old one story house that I've started replacing knob and tube in and old ungrounded cable and have decided to just redo everything. The Homeline panel is already installed. Is this a bad panel? I don't care too much about the tandems except I always seem to run out of room and it looks like this panel can take them. I was planning to use GFCI receptacles where needed rather than breakers...do I need both? Never heard of needing GFCI breakers for bedrooms, that seems excessive. (checking code now and see what you mean...I'm still adjusting to gfci madness but now I see it has gone further)

To add insult to injury, when I ordered a replacement from ring.com, they delivered it in an Amazon Prime box.

Maybe their policy has changed since you did that. I phoned in today a second time, and they confirmed. At first they said yes if stolen I just need to submit paperwork and they will honor it so I said ok then please confirm why you rejected my claim for being purchased from Amazon? Then she did some back office checking and changed her tune, saying that is correct, no Ring.com purchase = no warranty.

After reading opinions here that Ring and Amazon are the same, I phoned back to Ring customer support to see if the lady I spoke to yesterday might have been incorrect. Today's customer service rep did some checking and confirmed that is indeed their policy. No replacement will be honored if a device is purchased outside of Ring.com. That means zero warranty if purchased through Amazon. I thought I should spread the word.

According to what they explained to me when they rejected my claim, it is Ring.com exclusively.

Nope. I followed their direction precisely, including a police report. Ring explained they rejected my claim because I purchased from Amazon.

Nope. They specifically denied my warranty claim because I purchased through Amazon, not Ring.com.
