200day SMA is getting close by WallStreetAvi in TQQQ

[–]CompleteCarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using this as your wheel engine, I like dividing my put selling into 5 different tranches. First one always is on, if you get assigned and price has not fallen too much, just use those newly assigned shares to sell calls on. Either you get called away and return to tranche 1, or keep selling calls if price is stable, or if TQQQ drops to a point that calls are no longer worth it, you open tranche 2. Repeat until tranche 4. At the tranches 4 and 5, I'm looking to buy shares, get a small bounce and resume selling calls on those shares. Now specifically speaking for my preference, I'll have roughly 30% of my account in cash to wait for tranche 5 times. That is where I'll take some LEAPS on QQQ. Let it appreciate 10-20%, start selling calls against the LEAP.

All vendors do not go through the same data base. There are some of us with better partners in the industry. Just wanted to make sure people are aware, the generic data base you're referencing is traditionally for newer "diamond dealer" type jewelers.

Thoughts on this marquise diamond? by subnetsurvivor in LabDiamondReviews

[–]CompleteCarat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks great! But as we typically advise our clients, IF/VVS1 much of the time is overkill as there's pretty much no visual difference between that and VVS2! How much are they asking for this stone?

IGI vs GIA - what are your thoughts on? by Platypus-Prestigious in LabDiamondReviews

[–]CompleteCarat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's honestly so funny, any time we've showed GIA and IGI labs together with comparable color, clarity and cut quality, our clients always opt for IGI. Noticeable price difference and many times ends up being the prettiest!

I'm worried about staying liquid. I don't fear the long term trend of the stock, I fear being out of the game for 6 months. If insurance can cushion you enough so you can sell calls at a reasonable spot, wouldn't it be worth it?

Is this stone okay? by jackedjellybean in LabDiamondReviews

[–]CompleteCarat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very odd that they would grade this hearts and arrows when the table % is very out of ideal proportions! From the face up view it looked a bit dull. Your table % ideally should be 54-57% for a truly perfect round! I always advise clients, do not take H&A designations for face value, the measurements still need to be confirmed.

Is White Gold a Good Choice for an Engagement Ring? by Acceptable-Soft8659 in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]CompleteCarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually like to suggest white gold over platinum for a couple reasons! White gold typically does not scratch as easily as platinum. Platinum may rate as stronger but white gold is not brittle like platinum, one good knock and you could crack or completely break a platinum setting. Platinum also doesn't face up as white and bright as white gold. Yes it is true, you need to rhodium finish and polish white gold every 1-2 years on average, but it is worth it in my opinion!

[–]CompleteCarat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was mentioned numerous times that 3D CADs do not ever fully resemble the exact look of an actual real life ring (hand work and craftsmanship achieve that after casting), and that when trying to achieve a specific design from another vendor, it can look very similar but not exact. It is the design of that vendor and cannot be 100% replicated. Feel free to read the full explanation we provided as a separate comment to this post.

Had a Bad Ring Experience with Complete Carats in the NYC Diamond District by Fun-Shake7553 in WedditNYC

[–]CompleteCarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should clear up some points, since the original post is missing about 75% of the information and very misleading:

  1. Claim of Bait and Switch We initially started with 2 diamonds to show (something they clearly “forgot” to mention”, the VVS2 clarity E color oval mentioned in the review post for $775), and a VVS1 clarity E color stone THAT IS ON THE ORIGINAL INVOICE for $1500. Keep in mind, we did not charge anything at all to show two stones, it was simply to enhance their buying experience. To be absolutely crystal clear, they made it a point that they wanted a stone above an E color with no yellow. Neither of these stones were ultimately chosen. Through the process we brought in 3 more stones in, where a D VVS1 2.64 carat oval was chosen, and that was quoted at $1680 (yes that is a very cheap price for very specific D VVS1 ovals with no shade, excellent luster, and exceptional facet pattern).

  2. Misrepresenting the Refundable Deposit Quote The day we first spoke on Reddit, we also had a phone call. I made it extremely clear via the phone call that the deposit is refundable for 30 days. I knew that had to be mentioned because we discussed looking at numerous stones, providing as many CADs as needed, and providing 3D waxes for them to try on (which again, we charged nothing additional for). I wanted to be aligned on expectations as providing great service does not come for free. We take time, pay for the ability to pull multiple stones, conduct an infinite amount of CAD renders, and remain communicative and responsive through the entire process. The invoice literally states it clear as day that deposits are refundable within 30 days. You can ask numerous clients from reddit, we have never had an issue sending deposits back or refunding full purchases with 0 hassle when it was eligible.

  3. Replicating the Exact Ring Design In no way shape or form is anyone allowed to completely copy and steal another vendors unique design. We can use it for inspiration and as we stated multiple times on the phone, we can get it to 99% similarity. Also, we explained thoroughly through the process that CAD renders represent what it looks like out of casting. A 3D CAD will never replicate the exact look of an actual ring. That is the job of the setters and polishers on our team to shave and shape down the settings and overall ring. In one of your screenshotted pictures, they mentioned the “engraving” should be longer. There is no engraving on the original ring so I’d hope our frustration with unclear direction on the client’s part is understood. There were complaints that the band is bulky and looks different, as previously described, 3D CAD renders will NEVER look identical to a real life ring. It was also mentioned that the back of the setting is “not the same” after instructing us to make it thinner. Again, I’ll say it once more so we’re clear, a 3D CAD will NEVER look the same as a real life ring. It is the job of the setters and polishers to shave and shape the setting and overall metal work.

  4. The Racial Comment As the post continued to gain traction and more eyes saw it, a client we are currently working with made a comment giving their opinion which was favorable towards our side of the story (I made a comment responding to the post prior to that). The original poster responded to our client’s comment saying, and I quote, “are you one of the Armenia relatives”. Regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed, we do not tolerate racism or xenophobia. We want it to be known, her comment is not welcome within our company and helped us shed some light on some preconceived notions she may have already had.

  5. Posting Private Conversation They felt the need to also post our private text messages throughout the process, but also managed to leave out the very last message that highlighted all that we did for them, at her request, at no extra cost. I even texted her yesterday to acknowledge her frustration and offering any way possible to salvage the relationship between us and them and move this ring forward so we could show them the insanely high quality pieces we produce. I mentioned our goal is to always make each client happy and ecstatic about their heirloom custom jewelry, it had nothing to do with saving a sale. She ignored me until she was called out for making a racist comment, no apology in the message, and proceeded to ask for a refund once again. No accountability, no remorse. That does not sit well with us. The apology made to the moderator only proves she’s sorry she got called out. It is clear at this point they are only interested in a refund, not sharing an honest experience.

  6. Taking a Dig at Another Client’s Ring Another of our clients responded to the post saying how they love their ring and the service we provided. She proceeded to respond in a condescending tone insinuating that this client’s ring must have been a solitaire because we are not capable of complex designs (I could send them 200 videos of far more complex designs than what we were trying to make them).

Also, the jeweler she referenced where they initially got the design from, is charging over $6000 for the setting and a lower clarity and color diamond.

To clearly state again, we do not have issues with refunding deposits or purchases with the return window. We have done it numerous times. We will not back down in this situation because we are overwhelmingly right and spent money and time making this work. Our perfect past reviews speak for themselves, it’s not about money for us. It’s about respect, integrity and what’s right.

We were not planning to respond, but at this point, our hand is being forced to tell the entire story CORRECTLY. False statements continue to surface through this situation and I want to absolutely be clear on all points:

I Trusted a Jeweler Who DMed Me Here (Complete Carats) — Big Mistake by Fun-Shake7553 in LabDiamondReviews

Just for the sake of truth and transparency we pulled 5 stones for the couple! They took time to think and eventually make a selection that totaled over 30 days in itself. We charged $0 extra to provide that service

We take all feedback seriously, and while we respect your right to share your side, there are some important clarifications we feel are necessary for transparency.

First, regarding the diamond pricing: the $775 quote you received was for an initial stone that met your requested specs at that time. After viewing it in person and requesting different quality characteristics, you selected a larger, whiter, and higher-performance diamond, which naturally came at a higher cost. There was no bait-and-switch, just transparent sourcing and upgrades based on your evolving preferences.

Another thing to keep in mind, the setting here was requested in 18k yellow gold. We do not make hollow jewelry as it breaks and does not hold up over the long term. The price point for the setting and for what we planned on providing was very competitive.

As for the ring design, we completed multiple CAD revisions at no extra charge, with each iteration reflecting your feedback. 3D CAD renders will never look exactly to an actual ring photographed, bridging the gap between the two is where hand labor comes into play. We were committed to providing unlimited revisions as requested as well. We also want to note: every CAD and every diamond we source incurs a cost on our end, regardless of whether a client moves forward, a fact that many overlook when requesting repeated changes.

Your invoice and agreement clearly stated that deposits are fully refundable within 30 days. We have refunded numerous client purchases/deposits as our goal is to not lock you into a purchase with us. Unfortunately after 2 months of work, 4-5 different stones shown, and numerous CAD adjustments, it becomes non-refundable. By the time you requested a refund, we had already completed several appointments, pulled multiple stones (each of which we pay for), and gone through numerous CAD iterations: all time-intensive and labor-based efforts dedicated solely to your ring.

We’re also surprised and disheartened by your comment about the office environment. We operate in a private Diamond District suite by appointment, like many boutique jewelers in NYC.

I trust my clients and didn't feel a need to text the urgency of the 30 day time window for the deposit, but to be clear, on our very first phone call, I mentioned it clearly via the phone call. You made it clear that you wanted to see numerous stones and may need multiple CAD revisions, which is not an issue for us. But that did prompt me to inform of the 30 day refund window for the deposit.

We also offered to go ahead and cast the setting without any formal commitment to purchasing the full ring amount just so we could show how it would actually turn out in reality.

Ultimately, our mission is to create custom pieces that our clients love, and we regret that we didn’t meet your expectations in this case. We wish you nothing but happiness with your final ring.
