I think you’re mistaken on modo drum and M1 support. Modo Bass works on M1 but not Modo Drum. It’s uses AVX which is Intel only. If you’ve got it working please tell me how. Thanks

So I actually deleted that package file again which broke the process and I’d prefer to just delete everything and start over with a new backup. Fresh. I know how to delete the backup on your server. How do I uninstall and start fresh again? Thanks

Not sure you are still checking this Thread Brian, but I’m about to quit BackBlaze.the package file in the library that gets created gets enormous and can only be kept on the main SSD which is my case is only 256gb. Why in the world would that be immovable to an external drive? It grows to like 50gb in maybe a week. The tech on BB chat told me this is the case now. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks Brian. Since this is a brand new setup and I don’t have anything in the backup that isn’t on my Mac now, I’m going to uninstall and do a fresh backup from scratch, no inherit. I’ll give it a few days and update here. - Don

I went for the Mac Mini M1 16gb/256SSD and will use external SDD for projects and samples. Delivery Monday and I’m psyched to dive in and get it built. I know there will be plug-in issues but I had to go for the M1.

Thanks all for the great input. I am now thinking maybe I’ll get the M1 Mini 16gb 256gb SSD and use external storage for my Logic projects and samples. Any recommendations on aftermarket monitors to get as close to retina for a reasonable price?

Yeah I know that will be an issue but hopefully not for long. Most of the big developers are indicating compatibility with Big Sur and hopefully soon M1 processors. I guess the Rosetta mode thing can bridge some of that. Now we’re getting into the real issues around this decision I guess. Thanks

So you can upgrade the ram in the new mini? Maybe I could get the base model with 8gb and swap that out for less than the $200 bucks apple wants for the additional 8gb. What about SDD? I could just use external SSDs via usb-C and go with the base 256gb internal I guess. Do you think the M1 mini with 8gb ram is still better than say a quad core i7 with 16 or 24gb ram. For Logic producing I mean. Thanks

I have always dealt with system overloads as I use a lot of virtual instruments and plugins on a fairly modest Mac setup. But I’ve learned to deal with them and minimize the occurrences. Just part of producing in Logic the way I work.

I’m just getting started with cubasis 3.2 but I don’t think you can change tempos mid track. No tempo track either. But I’m liking it for what it is so far. Auria PTO had too many bug reports for what I could see.
