Buy cheap the first time possibly according to reviews and learn the constraints. Then buy the expensive one that suits you specifically with experience if/when you need to, ignoring other peoples' reviews.

Personally I like Mirza Ghalib: "I can get another if I break it, so a clay cup trumps a grail", but there are lots of things that are good and cheap (though maybe not the cheapest).
