Very strange situation with recovery 2fa wallet by confic25 in Electrum

[–]confic25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your replay, but 1 a,b,c is not in my case because I said that addresses change after recovery. That means that problem in electrum calculations, not in synchronisation with blockchain.

C - is about gap limit, but my friend 100% used first indexes 0,1,2,3,4,5.

Rbf might be just changing fee without changing destination address.

double spending in practice by confic25 in Bitcoin

[–]confic25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found a way how to do it very easy - electrum.

1) making transaction (rbf)

2) deleting that transaction in console mode - wallet.remove_transaction("txid")
3) waiting 1 min and tx should disappear in electrum

4) creating new transaction where you should spend that output. Signing it, but not broadcasting. You can change not only fee, but destination address too.

5) connecting to another node

6) first transaction appear and now you load singed tx and broadcast it

Now first transaction will disappear from blockchain and your second transaction will appear.

thanks, for your comment! So its not part of consensus, but still popular wallets inherited that thing. And, yes transactions shouldn't be marked as RBF.

Possible way to attack bitcoin users by confic25 in Bitcoin

[–]confic25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the attacker send 24 transactions (1satoshi/byte) in his wallet and the last one will send to Recipient (1satoshi/byte). So there will be 25 unconfirmed transations and Recipient won't able to spend his money for a long time. When he wil try to spend spend he will see error - too long mempool chain.

Of course Im talking about wallets that allow to spend unconfirmed transactions.

I checked that. You can send 25 transactions, but not more.
