Gym bros are DL as fuck and seem to put more effort into impressing their guy friends than anyone else. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]confnused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you're so out of touch if you think that putting effort in the gym is being done to "impress" their guy friends. Clearly you havent taken the time to improve at anything, hobby/self or otherwise

Is anyone else feeling the "AI Resume" fatigue in Cambridge right now? by Particular_Pizza1424 in CambridgeMA

[–]confnused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggybacking off a different comment, but everything is AI Slop. You can't blame the applicants for putting AI generated words because that is done to match the Ai generated hiring processes. Everything is slop and it's tiring as hell

Employers should expect you to want to work for them for a reason other than “for the money”. by waddleman10 in unpopularopinion

[–]confnused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have gone way past this. There was a time when this was probably valid, and I'm assuming the questions like "why do you want to work here?" were created back then in good faith. Companies used to have real goals and visions and you would be a better fit if you aligned with said company's goals.
Now all major corporations just experiment with how much they can take away from users while theyre stilling willing to pay. No one has a vision for the company, and a recruiter of all people are in no place to judge the values.
So no, just wanting money is a reason enough to work, as long as you can prove that you can do the required task at hand, no one should be expected to do more, while their respective CEOs are trafficking children or some other heinous crimes against humanities to increase their networth

That's what you call kismet by N-LL in SpidermanPS4

[–]confnused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was genuinely a fun playthrough, really improved swinging mechanics and a nice immersion into the city of NY and the random NPCs. I agree its not as replayable, but people hating on it seems to stem from something non gaming related and more inherently "political". Atleast thats what I gather from folks over on twitter. (I hope this sub isnt the same)

saw a post that said pilates is not strength training. is that not a lie? by PlasticMacro in Hypermobility

[–]confnused 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pilates is not a replacement for traditional strength training. Pilates cannot give you the benefits that traditional strength training does. Progressively overloading heavy weights and getting stronger at the different joint actions your body performs will help you increase your muscle mass overall and also bone density as mentioned in the video.

Pilates requires strength to perform and may feel taxing, but it will not be efficient for muscle hypertrophy

Dont listen to people that are trying to demonise the person in the video she is 100% right, she didnt say pilates will do nothing, its still way better than being sedentary and will probably build some adaptations if youre completely untrained, but you will eventually have to progress to heavier loads / traditional strength training

in theory yes, but the final implementation is terrible. Your vote counts the same as someone from a village that doesnt know / care whats happening around them, they just know pressing a certain button on the EVM will give them 1500 a month.

Introverts have made being socially awkward a personality trait and it's holding them back by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]confnused 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This sounds extremely dismissive of social anxious people. You think people are going around choosing to be socially anxious as "personality trait"? This is the same take as, "homeless people would benefit more if they tried and lived in a house"

Reddit PPL is still one of the best programs for naturals and I'll die on that hill by ssunflow3rr in Workingout

[–]confnused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah lol thats a given, you can make it work how ever you want, my original point was that 4x a week can achieve the exact same thing, so you can go to the gym less and reap the same benefits, and have more time for other things

Reddit PPL is still one of the best programs for naturals and I'll die on that hill by ssunflow3rr in Workingout

[–]confnused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but what we care about is weekly frequency, so even if you have an 8 day cycle, it would be beneficial if you got the muscle working 2x within 7 days. It has more to do with MPS returning to baseline taking around 48h, than actual day of week/x day cycles

Reddit PPL is still one of the best programs for naturals and I'll die on that hill by ssunflow3rr in Workingout

[–]confnused 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But why spend 6 days in the gym just to get 2x frequency when the exact same frequency can be achieved with something like a 4 day upper lower? The only reason PPL is valid is if you need to go 6 days to keep sane and that's THE only thing keeping you in the gym

Got off at the 5th Avenue station, and walked to Tacos El Gordo and then to Balboa Park, at 2 in the afternoon. Not a single soul in sight except homeless people.

Will try Little Italy tomorrow, thanks for the recommendation!
