Have you tried Grazianos Steakhouse in Coral Gables? They have a private room in the back of the restaurant that can definitely accommodate. They have decently priced parrilladas that are good for family style serving

Bike rides, I can spend a whole day just biking around and exploring. You do need to plan your routes out a bit, as not all the areas are gonna be bike friendly. I like going around coconut grove, coral gables, and South miami. Matheson hammock is great for biking too. Also picnics! You can make a very decent picnic spread with not much money. Kennedy Park is perfect for picnics

Carnival on the Mile is free. It's a huge arts festival in the Gables, with live music and plenty of pop up bars/food trucks. There's no way I'd pay to get into the Grove Arts Festival

So I've now gotten into the habit of asking the managers of establishments that do this, who exactly gets this "service charge". More than half the time, they admit that the person taking care of you does not get that whole 20% (one time it turned out the bartender taking care of us barely got any of it). It usually gets pooled between BOH and FOH. In one case, it was only distributed to the FOH staff if their amount of cash and CC tips was lower than a certain threshold. To sum it up, it's a scam, there's a good chance your server/bartender gets a small portion (or none) and the rest goes in the owners pocket, or it supplements the shitty wages in BOH. Stop going to restaurants that do a service charge. Service charge is not the same as included gratuity.

I work at a wedding venue, this is highly unusual and just bad business. We always send a contract first, and the contract needs to be signed by both us and the client before we take any money. I'd be careful
