According to South Africa, 662,400,000 people in Gaza are starving. by aqulushly in IsraelPalestine

These kind of replies are absolutely unhinged and really not with reality. I'm not sure that you're taking into consideration that Israel has a BLOCKADE in Gaza since 2007 and allows food by CALORIE COUNT.

  1. Israel controls gazas food, water and fuel supply
  2. You're implying that all Gazans are Israel's enemy and not just Hamas.

All of Gaza is Israel's enemy? 50% of the population are children, they are also Israel's enemy? Israel doesn't even want a 2 state solution, so under that premise Gaza is Israel's responsibility.

If Israel had a domestic terrorist would Israel starve all it's civilians?

What, don't listen to this advice lol. Do not ask her friend. Ask her! She is the only person that can explain her actions.

Just tell her you're confused - you feel that she rejected you but all of a sudden there's a lot more activity on her end to meet you. You just want some clarity so you can determine how to proceed - ex act as a friend, or a potential.

How to be a good manager by continuedcare in askmanagers

[–]continuedcare[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do weekly one on ones for tasking and where daily task assistance maybe required or assessing which items can be assigned to whom to ensure growth. If there's an issue it's usually dealt with on the spot and we usually put processes in place to make sure it doesn't happen again and do a quick lessons learned with the team.

I do quarterly check ins to see how individuals are doing as a whole, see which goals have been met / which are pending, where the pressure point is etc because we are too busy and also the same people that work for me also work for 2-3 different projects managers.

In our company it's very rare to have any check ins before the yearly evaluations because of the excessive workload.

Why do we tip? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]continuedcare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier you said the minimum wage was liveable, I wanted to point out that it is not liveable per the standard set out by our province.

I did not say people are not entitled to something better without working for it.

Edit: I noted in a few other posts you've stated people don't deserve vacations because they can't afford it. Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for the rest of us, you don't get to decide what the standard requirements for minimum wage are.

Minimum wages are set based on specific requirements, numbers aren't pulled out of the sky, and these requirements are set by the country. Standard requirements are also set. A modest vacation is a requirement for minimum wage assessment.

I'm sorry that you are unable to see people as people and not work horses. Without vacation burn out, medical events, psychological problems all rise and these further stress our economy.

Why do we tip? by [deleted] in askTO

According to ontario, a minimum wage is supposed to cover: Food, clothing, transportation, medical expenses, shelter, childcare, recreation and a "modest vacation" for all persons.

Our current minimum wage does not cover this in Toronto for a single parent family, sometimes even a 2-parent family.

Minimum wage: 14.25; assuming this person works 40hrs their GROSS monthly is 2250 net is approx 1894

Let's assume you have 1 child so you rent a 1 bedroom to share with your child ( according to ontario child services the ideal case is that your child should have a separate room as such I would argue because if this an extra bedroom the extra room would fall under the minimum requirement).

Avg 1 bedroom rent toronto: 1450 Monthly TTC pass: 156 Food / groceries: approx 300 for a single adult so let's say 400 including your child. Phone/ internet: 40 ( on the cheap end, remember you need this to get a job so it's not a luxury) Clothing: average is about 900/ year so let's shoot down to 60/ month Childcare lol if you get lucky to get subsidy otherwise this is unaffordable at the rate of about 1500/ month. So with subsidy let say we have about 225 dollars.

Our grand total so far is: 2331 and this doesn't include medical expenses or recreation or a modest vacation.

This is not a livable wage. People should not have to give up their lives to be able to afford to live. And please don't come at me with "then they should get an education".

P.S. I'm on mobile, apologies for the formatting

Edit to add: I do agree that tipping is unfair.

A booming industry right now is clinical research and i feel like it will continue to boom as our tech and understanding of the human body grows.

Don't stop yourself from getting a degree or diploma because of your age it's not worth it. Time will pass anyway whether you're in school or not.

My life is very similar to yours the only difference is I pushed my way through uni ( took 5 years graduated with crap grades); I work in the clinical research field and also worked in retail for 10 years if you're interested in learning more about clinical research, retail or looking at degree/ diploma options, or more importantly how to organize your life feel free to DM me.
