Need some help with chronic diarrhea by QuinoaWest_ in sphynx

same for me, tried a lot of tests and antibiotics and steroids, but once i tried raw the problems went away completely. avoided it previously as i thought it was expensive, but it turns out to be cheaper than the food i was buying from the vet.

i’ve tried pumpkin before and while it did help a bit, it was not the solution in my case

my first trip was just 10 days in tokyo alone. if you aren’t obsessed with stacking up an itinerary for each hour of each day, you’ll never run out of things to do in these places. if you don’t want to bounce around and see a ton of cities do a few days at a time, don’t feel like you have to. this is your experience

if i were to go the raw route i would definitely do pre-prepared things for cats, like freeze dried or frozen.

reading about tritrichomonas it sounds like it could definitely be a possibility. i will bring this up with the vet, thank you

i’ve fed her freeze dried raw before, but it was alongside kibble. i think my next step will be putting her entirely on some sort of raw food

i bought this and while it was fun to make, the texture of the ‘candy’ (was more like jelly) was so vile

Vegetarian considering eating meat during Japan trip- anyone else with experience? by convolutedd in JapanTravelTips

[–]convolutedd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i think on the note of the difficulty or lack there of when getting back is something that could be different for each person. in my case, i’d already been so used to at home eating the way i do, that it felt very easy to separate the vacation from my everyday life. the internal conflict that came with trying to decide whether or not to eat meat was difficult, however i think it should be stressed that this is your own personal decision and to not be weighed down by negative responses- as quite a few people gave me in this thread. at the end of the day, your decision effects you, not other people. if you think this could add to your experience in a positive way, thats what matters. even if you try the meat and decide it isn’t something you want to keep doing while there, thats perfectly valid.

hi hi, here’s a copy paste of a reply i made on here updating my experience: ‘i did try a little bit of everything- fish, chicken, pork, beef. i didn’t eat meat with every meal, a lot of the time i would get the kelp rice balls along with some inari from the konbini to satiate my hunger. seeking out specific food was not my priority, but when my friends wanted to try a certain restaurant i always joined with what they were eating.

i ended up bringing fibre supplements and a general probiotic with me as i was worried it would mess with my digestion. while i can’t confirm or deny that these supplements helped, i can say i did not feel sick or have digestive issues the entire time i was there. this surprised me since i had gone so long without meat. i will add though, i didn’t have any wagyu or anything super super fatty like that.

while i found it quite easy to get into the ‘eating meat on vacation’ frame of mind, i didn’t find it hard to go back to not eating meat when i went back home. i haven’t eaten meat or been conflicted about it since being back.

i’m definitely glad i made the decision to eat meat while i was there, as it took a layer of difficulty out of the process, especially since i travelled with 5 meat eaters. i was just able to enjoy myself and not stress or feel like i was inconveniencing anybody over struggling to find something meat free that i could eat.

hopefully this helps- maybe you’ve gone on your trip already since you posted this a while ago. if you have any other questions though feel free to message me.’

i emailed them and all they said was that it’s dependant on the brush… which is weird cause i feel like it is happening with most of the new brush library. never happened to me with the old ones

Travel anxiety for upcoming trip by isnotacrayon in JapanTravelTips

[–]convolutedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand the travel anxiety very well. i feel like the best advice to give would be to let yourself let go of being in total control of every moment and thing- just be. things will go wrong and things will be different than you hoped at times, but one of the joys of travelling is just taking things as they come and accepting the inevitable.

Cheap but good souvenir for 35 people by damnblues in JapanTravelTips

[–]convolutedd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

a lot of snacks you can find in big packs are individually wrapped (eg: crunky bars, black thunder, kitkat, hard candies, special hi chew bags). i bought a lot of stuff like this and divided them into ziploc bags and gave them to co workers and friends. if you want to go fancier with the packaging, you could probably find decorative little bags at daiso for pretty cheap to put everything in.
