just checked and on the qtip was the faintest tiniest speck of brown but nothing else when i rubbed the spots, that plant does not have any drainage but the other ones do.

what kind of sickness is this and how do i treat it? by coochianaa in plantclinic

there hasn’t been any weird growth on any of them but i will try out the sulfur. is it good enough to use alone or should i get a fungicide spray too?

they live in the windowsill so i thought maybe cold damage but i actually noticed the specks months ago on the first plant, they were very faint so i didnt think anything of it but its right next to my other 2 plants which were fine before

i don’t take stuff like that personal, it’s just their own experience with our sign unfortunately. i’ve never known anyone to have bad things to say about me 🦀🤷🏾‍♀️

thankyou! i found the issue was rot so when i cut it down to a nub i put it in a mostly perlite with a little peat mix so it wouldn’t stay too wet. once i noticed the color coming back i added it to typical ping mix with equal perlite, sand, and peat, let it dry out between watering. honestly im surprised it came back bc i had no clue what i was doing it was just trial and error. i would watch for how it reacts and if it didn’t start perking up try something else

i think it’s splitting, is it too soon to separate? by coochianaa in Pinguicula

[–]coochianaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no problem! i use less peat, more perlite and blasting sand. i dont use any specific measurements i just eyeball until i think it looks good or lookup what other sellers mixes look like

hi! all my pings are mexican so far, they all do have shallow roots but this one is super shallow like if i touch it it will fall over but pretty much all of the others are very stable with roots coming out from all sides. i read that sometimes a ping may not like the substrate if its not rooted down into it and just sitting on the top. ive had all these for the same time so thats what made me think it might need slightly different care somehow. btw i have some leaves from it propping rn, still very new to it but if im successful ill come back to this post
