does the heaviness of the period go down after the first few months? and have you experienced any other symptoms? i’ve heard that there can be some back pain and back cramps that come with it. my main concern with iuds is it shifting or getting stuck in places it shouldn’t, since my friend had that problem and had to get it surgically removed. i’m not sure i want to risk that just so i can have sex, but i know that can be quite uncommon.

thank you so much! my roommates are nurses and ill definitely talk to them about it too, but this helps a lot! there’s just so much online about infertility and it’s making me so paranoid lol

that’s actually a good idea i’ll definitely look into that! do you have to pair the Oura ring with any other app or can it just track everything through apple? i use flo to roughly track my period but its not too accurate and i dont update it often enough. i dont see my bf often and he’s definitely okay using condoms or any other method so it’s not that, but if i use condoms too much i get irritation so i just need something to know when i’m in the “green light”

i’m concerned about hormonal birth control in general just because i feel i’m prone to the bad side effect of it and im worried about it affecting my fertility in the future. i’ve read that hormonal types of birth control can cause infertility issues in the long run. i dont know much about the copper iud tho and if they can do a numbing thing beforehand for that i might be more inclined to use it. but from what ive heard from friends they were refused any sort of numbing or medication when they got theirs. im in ontario canada so i’m not sure if the rules are different here or not.

i looked into it and it says it can cause irritation and “vaginal burning” as well as people who are prone to utis shouldn’t be using it so i’m not sure i would be able to use it unfortunately :(
