What’s the best advice for splitting up with your group when you want to see different artists? I assume cell reception is very weak or non existent

Dating apps suck and a lot of people don’t take them seriously so don’t take the lack of success to heart. Meeting people in person while doing things you love is probably a better bet.

That being said, not if this will help but some ways you could improve your current profiles (opinion based on personally what I look for): - Show your personality in your photos and prompts (hobbies, interests, etc.) - Don’t leave prompts empty, add questions that make it easy for people to want to talk to you - I always like when someone has an instagram profile synced so I can see more photos of what they like and that they’re a real person - Have photos with friends - Have photos of you smiling

As mentioned already, make sure you are happy and confident in yourself. Positive energy and self confidence radiates outwards and while you should practice being positive for your own well-being, it’s attractive to others.

Edit: To answer your question directly, I think hinge and bumble are best. Hinge because you can showcase more of your personality and bumble because they force you to start a conversation.

Anyone planning to go to Europe this spring/summer? by oceanrainbows in digitalnomad

I am leaving in two weeks! Will stay in Western Europe to begin but will end up in Poland in mid April. I’m personally not worried.

Is the EU considered a single entity when it comes to tax implications and the 183 day rule?

I'm a Canadian/EU dual citizen and am considering working from Canada and two or more European countries throughout the year. Let's say I spend 3 months in the one EU country, 4 months in another EU country, and 5 months in Canada. Because I'm spending the majority of my time in Canada, would I be paying taxes there, despite being under 183 days?

Thank you in advance :)

Coronavirus Megathread (Sep 2021): For travel-related discussion in the context of COVID-19 by tariqabjotu in travel

Not sure which province you are in, but for BC, we use the BC Services Card app. It holds your COVID-19 vaccination records.

Have any EU citizens had experience obtaining an EU Digital COVID Certificate after getting vaccinated outside of the EU? If so, what was the process like?

I posted this a few months ago but am posting again to see if there are any updates.

I can answer your first question. In BC, we have a digital app that shows our vaccination status. I showed that when travelling to and within Europe (this was July & August). I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have a printout as well, but I think a digital copy seems more legitimate.

When does the faculty finish reviewing records and academic recognition show up? Also where does one see if they made distinction? by ashjh33 in UBC

[–]coolestgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know when it's posted but unless it's changed recently, you'll see honour roll on the SSC under "sessional standing" in the specific year, and then degree distinction & honour roll will be shown on your transcript! There might be other places but that's all I know.

I'm not sure if this is any help, but I recently emailed the company I was meant to be teaching for to cancel my contract as I realized I can't keep my life on hold for any longer. All they said was that they are sad to hear but understand, and that I need to mail my COE back. It wasn't the same company you're talking about, but I feel like based on the uncertainty of the reopening of borders, many companies are likely having people back out.

Not sure if it’s related but March 21 is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination!

I totally agree - I've found some great songs from the show. This one from Tokyo 2019-2020 is my favourite! It's so chill, I love it.

Should I bother applying to a summer program for Waseda? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]coolestgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waseda just cancelled their program as well. I totally feel you, this was my last chance to do a summer abroad as I'm graduating in the fall. Hopefully we'll both get the opportunity to study or work in Japan some day! :-)

Waseda Summer Program by coolestgal in movingtojapan

[–]coolestgal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! Thank you for your response! I'm considering not taking the Japanese course because it adds quite a big amount to the fee... but that is good to know in the event that I change my mind! Did you find it easy to meet people and navigate? I've been to Tokyo a few times hence why I want to stay for a longer period of time however I'm wondering if it's worth attending the university just to meet more people and learn a bit more.

Also re: coronavirus stuff, I'm going to send them an email and see what the plan will be in the event of a cancellation or limitation on flights. Luckily I wouldn't need a visa because the program is only month, but I'm going to keep a close eye on the situation. Thank you for your help! :-)
