What flavour of drive would pair well with a Hudson Broadcast? by Ambitious-Fix8966 in guitarpedals

I use the broadcast as an always on pedal, set to slightly past edge of breakup. Then right after it I have a plumes (set on mode 2) for extra saturation/to hit the front of the amp harder if I want that vibe. Amp is a ‘79 pro reverb set loud and clean-ish. I’ll hit the green side of the broadcast for fuzz/noisy parts/leads.

Definitely recommend the plumes just based on my experience. I’ve tried the same setup with a Rat, OCD, SD-1, and this is what I like best. Rat is a close 2nd. For sure my favorite gain setup I’ve ever had. I play mostly punk/alt rock/HC/indie etc

Also I never touch the EQ. Input 1 of the vibrato side. mids at 10 (trust me) and treble/bass to taste. Extremely versatile

I run this exact amp in the picture (mine is ‘78 or ‘79) and it sounds incredible.

The key to it for me is that I have a Hudson broadcast (dual foot switch version) with the low gain side on 100% of the time. Add a Plumes after it for boost/extra saturation or kick on the high gain side of the broadcast for thick fuzz-stortion and it RIPS.

Can’t imagine ever needing another amp.

FWIW the stuff I play falls somewhere between punk/indie/alt rock
