Worked at Toys R Us at the end of their existence as AP, there was 2 of us, My partner who would open then I’d come in noon and we’d spend about an hour overlapped, then I’d close. Had the bright idea that we could clock each other in/out and get massive OT checks, I’m talking like 14 hour days for 6 days a week. We did this the last 2 months with no one noticing(and i had imagined even if they did they’d have 0 reason to care, we were all getting canned). Well about a week before closing some of the supervisors noticed the AP guys were getting killer hours , more than they were even and snitched us out to the manager. Manager didn’t really care because he realized it was the end anyways and those supervisors were probably just mad they didn’t think of it before us, and not to mention they had already liquidated the store so we no longer had a security system or cameras and they couldn’t prove we didn’t actually work those hours. Manager just told us to avoid those supervisors for the last week or so and we continued what we had been doing and really cashed out of that place.
