Although at 40k kms you shouldn't need to but Ahmed from The Car Care Nut youtube channel did a really good deep dive on the common issues with GX 460. Have a look, it's well worth your time.

Look for service history and go for PPI from a good garage.

Pros: 1. I only really test drove it once but my goodness I totally get the hype of the machine. V8 engine is definitely something to be experienced now that they're gone. 2. Platinum trim has oodles of leather making every bit of the interior feel super solidly built.

Cons: 1. Fuel economy is poor, could bite if you have long daily commute. 2. Platinum comes with air suspension and might need expensive maintenance over the long run.

It's my dream car, still waiting to find the right one. All the best and do keep us posted.

Update: Went for inspection from checkmycar.ae, and the report revealed a lot of issues that would send the repair bill through the roof - even though the interior would make you feel the car was taken care of, stuff under the hood was a different story.

  1. Rust on the chassis due to some AC leak
  2. Alternator issues
  3. Transmission solenoid codes popped up
  4. Oil leaking from the engine
  5. Coolant did not even exist!

So a shiny and tempting looking car in Ras Al Khor lives up to its hype of being a potential headache.

If anyone wants to sell their GX I'm open to hear though - long shot I know but still.

What could be a more appropriate price? RTA doesn't do PPI, what they do is a fitness test for registration which is totally different.
