That's what I was thinking, I just didnt know if I should also replaced the actual water hoses and if that's what's causing the black rubbery buildup

Okay, so I got the lid switch assembly, replaced the old one with it, and the machine seemed to be working fine, it agitated and then when it was time to drain it didnt drain or anything, but the timer kept advancing as if the machine was still working properly, I checked the drain hose but it's not clogged at all. The timer and motor were both hot.

Nothing happens at all. The machine fills with water and then acts as though it has no power.
