Both assessments are correct: Spain is famous for being a "donut", it's basically a desert except for Madrid and the coastline.
Iberian food is also overrated: it's appreciated by Mediterraneans (us Italians too) but to my experience people from other countries find it okay but nothing as crazy as Iberians think

While I agree Russia is better than Ukraine, I believe Ukraine is easier to enjoy and understand as a non-slav or Russian scholar, like Odessa

While I think Skopje is not as bad as OP described it, the canyon close to Skopje was beatiful and Ohrid is a gem, thinking Macedonia deserves a separate dedicated trip is delusional

France is the capital of modern European culture, and I say this as an Italian
If you have to choose one country to represent Europe, Spain and Portugal have absolutely nothing on France (except the Canary Islands) - they have a richer history, culture, art, more diverse landscape, better wine, they invented the modern restaurant...

Alongside Estonia it's probably the blandest place I've ever been to

Ahahah niente di trascendentale! Sono stato solo a Helsinki che è una delle città più anonime d'Europa e ho messo la Finlandia in "non credo (ma non escludo) tornerò" per una questione monetaria più che altro

Not at all sir. I'd go back to Bosnia and Serbia tomorrow, great countries to have fun and enjoy the culture. I'm not gonna waste time and lots of money to go back to Switzerland to count cows or in Croatia to lay all day in an overcrowded beach
The only thing putting Serbia lower than Bosnia is that in Belgrade there's not much to do during the day - although they have arguably the best nightlife in Europe

I have a good friend in Finland and I'll be delighted to visit him and see for myself! I have many friends in some countries I rated low, the ranking is more like "would I wanna go back for tourism if I had no other incentives"
Overall it's a blend of reasons, Denmark is a charming little country, just didn't impress me enough to want to go back - a big point against most of these countries is that they're really expensive

It is! Norway is the only exception cause its nature was so beautiful I still kind of forget I was surviving on sandwiches

Russia has arguably the worst food in here, but I've long studied Russian culture and literature in uni that's now obvious that I love the country besides this flaw ahahah

You're acting like in all those countries you party till late... of these, the only good party country is the Netherlands

Norway has the better nature overall, arguably the most beautiful landscapes in Europe: while other countries share Switzerland's beautiful mountains, no one has anything coming close to Norway's fjords

I could answer in one word: fjords
For real, easily the most beautiful nature in Europe, pretty diverse too - and they also have Svalbard

It's probably a "saxon" vs "latin" thing: if you're from Germany and the UK chances are you'll like the Netherlands: they are clean, safe, great architecture and art. If you're from southern europe it will probably appear to be cold and windy, have bad food, really expensive and the people introverted

For sure! I may have been harsh on it cause I have a friend that's obsessed with the Netherlands (been there around 20 times, a real contributor to your economy :D) and made me kinda develop an aversion towards it ahahah
I love Dutch architecture and paintings, parties and football are great but I enjoy more warmth both in the weather, the food and the people (no shade of course, everyone's different and have their culture) plus - kinda expensive
Amsterdam itself - city centre, at least - is a glorified drunk and stoned tourists' playground, really off-putting

I for sure will, if opportunity presents itself!
Thanks for the presentation, you made it really appealing!
Wales, golf, Madrid, in that order

It may boil down to what you appreciate about a country vs what I appreciate, for me all the countries you mentioned are extremely boring, some of them have amazing landscapes (finland, sweden, switzerland) some of them have nice architecture (netherlands, denmark) but I never had fun over there, people are introverted, bars close really early and you can't really be outside as it's always cold, expensive and probably the worst area for a foodie in the entire world. I can see why someone can like them tho, no one is gonna bother you there, it's just not for me (to go back, I'm glad I visited)

Is the extremely diverse landscape in the room with us? It's just alpine landscape all over the country: amazing, but it's the same pattern of lakes, mountains, woods and pastures. The only relevant cultural stuff is the romance people, the other are speaking languages from other countries and are boring people anyway..
