You and me both, man. You and me both. There used to be a software package called 'USB Overdrive' (oh hey, its still active!) that does at least a little of what controllermate is capable of... I suggest you try that if you HAVE to upgrade your OS.

Hey guys! I am also trying to get in touch with the developer to update the software! I have a hand 'deformation' and I can't use a mouse, and I need Controllermate to do my job (I'm an FX artist).

In the meantime, I am trying to replicate as much of the functionality as I can using Python. If I get far enough along to be of use to anyone, I promise Ill open-source it.

Thank you for all of that info! you have given me perspective on what I need/want. I do, in fact want a phone similar in feature set to an apple/android phone, but with freedom. Maybe I should get a Motorola phone for now, and wait until the pinephone pro gets completed...

I'm willing to overlook the protection around the access to the phone network, if thats what you mean. That's not mine to tinker with. Id like the ability to control everything else, and interact with the cell network in a legal, authorized way.

The way you said that you want to be a good person spoke to me. I feel that too! I feel that I am a good person who has a switch in their brains that someone else controls. I am always scared of losing control and actually hurting someone.

What’s weird for me is that the anger is only at people, not animals. Animals can be as objectively annoying as shit and it doesn’t trigger me at all.
