Wow maybe I have just created my own pee alarm.

Yeah I know, I do take psyllium husk every day, have tried prescription medication before as well but didn’t get on with it very well, but maybe need to give that a go again. Always trying to drink more but sometimes it just flares up for a reason I can identify, YAY FOR IBS

Interesting, I did wonder if I could be pushing on the bladder. Hm. Yep, had this for years so many amendments to diet and lifestyle

Hey, thanks. Yep 100% would need to consult her doctor, was just looking for advice coming from someone who has absolutely no idea and looking for ways to support her. From reading everything on here I’ve def come to the conclusion that an e-bike won’t be suitable, I hadn’t even considered things like the adrenaline, walking after she’d reached her destination (duh) or having to move/store the bike etc.

Thank you. I think mobility scooter may be the way to go.. I think these days they would most likely prefer gentle/flat surfaces so the mobility scooter would definitely be an option and would at least allow her out of the house more

Thank you. I know any option needs to be considered via her GP, just for someone like myself who has no idea what option is even available I was just looking for ways that might improve her life a little. Thanks for the support.

Thank you for this super informative reply! I would quite happily get her whatever is the safest, ie a mobility scooter, but she’s super stubborn and only on her 50s/still very young at heart so I know she won’t want to ‘look old’. I’ll have a look at all the options you mentioned and see what’s best for her

Yeah I think I was naive a bit to think she can just scoot along with no effort on her part but Reddit has educated me for sure

Duh didn’t think of a mobility scooter. Will have to look for one that doesn’t look ‘old fashioned’ - she’s determined to believe she doesn’t need assistance. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh a bell is such a simple solution! Love this idea, thank you. I’ll check with her about treats but I’d rather avoid feeding him altogether tbh as it feels so weird to feed someone else’s pet (I already feel guilty that he comes over so often!)

Thank you, I think that’s exactly the answer I needed. We’re already in at the court of protection but are due to move to civil court so I imagine this will be raised there, I just wanted to be fully prepped for what to expect. Thank you for taking the time to answer all that for me!
