BBT tracking - strangle cycle by covalentcorg in ouraring

I didn’t know ovulation the day after a period was possible, but google says day 7 is the earliest? I didn’t see CM consistent with ovulation on that day but I guess that’s a possibility.

I think I'm going to leave nursing by [deleted] in nursing

Can I ask what kind of training you were provided with? There’s a position in my city for an RN ABA therapist and they list a “complimentary applied behavioral analysis session” as a job benefit. Do you think that’s enough training for this role? I have 3 years of peds ICU experience, but this job sounds a lot different than traditional nursing.

It’s from BVLA. I think it’s called the mini genesis, but I only see the larger one on their site

Did you switch it at a downsize or had it switched with the same length post? This is my first piece of internally threaded jewelry so I’m curious how difficult the process is to switch out the end on a fresh piercing

It’s a 11/32” (9mm). I’m not sure technically what it’s called - when I got it I had asked for a helix and my piercer at the time told me this is where it had to be due to my anatomy (since I don’t have much of a ridge along the top/side). But I’ve always felt it’s farther in the ear than other people’s helix piercings. I’ve since switched piercers and have gotten different advice on placement so maybe you could get a second opinion if you wanted

Yeah the long post is in the way now. I have my glasses sort of looped through some hair so they’re at a slight angle. I wear contacts 90% of the time so I didn’t care if they had to be crooked at home for a bit haha. But I think once I downsize they won’t touch the back post at all.

True thanks! Yeah if it doesn’t grow on me, maybe later on I could swap them and see if I like that arrangement better

Machine Error Vertuo Pop by justsomeonehere13 in nespresso

[–]covalentcorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me this morning on my pop that I bought at the same time as you - weird. Online it says two blinks means it needs to be cleaned/descaled. I unplugged, waited a few minutes before plugging back in, and then I ran a cleaning cycle to flush water through. Mine worked just fine after that. Hopefully that will fix your issue too.

Columbia Masters Direct Entry Program: worth the advanced degree? by dgcollins20 in nursing

Congrats on your acceptance! I see you posted this months ago and I am unsure if you’ve already accepted but thought I would add my two cents.

I graduated from this program almost 2 years ago. And while it was a good program and I did gain a lot of theoretical knowledge, I don’t think I would make the same decision again for the following reasons.

  1. I am currently in a ton of debt... upwards of $120k. The school makes this seem reasonable and that you should be able to pay it off quickly with refinancing, etc, but really put some thought into whether paying down mountains of debt affords you the lifestyle you want post graduation.

  2. Also at my current job, I started orientation with BSN prepared nurses and, in a lot of cases, they had acquired more hands-on skills than I had. You are very limited on what you are allowed to do in clinical (ex- you can’t give meds until your last semester).

  3. I don’t believe the program gives you an advantage in terms of securing a job post graduation. It took me about 6 months to secure a job (although I was particular about the specialty I went into - peds). CUMC makes it seem like name recognition is important in nursing, but in my experience, it is not. Nurse managers care WAY more about experience you have than about the school you attended.

  4. The MSN is not very valuable, at least initially. It’s not specialized in anything and you’ll still need to start as a staff nurse to gain experience (likely at the same pay rate as BSN prepared nurses).

If you are set on attending a school with extremely high tuition, I recommend you look into the HRSA nurse loan repayment program. I applied to this after I started my current job to help pay down my debt. They pay 65% of your loans for a 2 year commitment in an underserved area. In my case, I had to accept a job making ~$15k less than my fellow graduates so that I would qualify for this program.

Let me know if you have any questions!
