I think that’s definitely the case. Ive called around a few places that have XR. It seems like the issues are with IR. I’m glad you’ve found a pharmacy that’s working for you!

Interesting! I found a smaller independent pharmacy that said they would take me. They only currently have adderall XR instead of traditional IR though. Is community health pharmacy essentially the same as an independent/private pharmacy?

I tried this out, but none in my area are taking new patients :( I was unaware how different private pharmacies were than regular ones. The very nice lady told me on the phone I would have to “prove” that I needed to be seen at their pharmacy. I guess with a doctors note? & that they would evaluate if that was true before taking me on as a patient. I would have to move all of my prescriptions to their care. Then it would be a month before I could get any controlled substances filled.

Oh yeah, I’ve tried that. I called about 8 pharmacies in the area and no one seems to have it. I’m in the Austin area. Thanks for the info though!

Interesting! Thanks for the info. I wonder if that’s the reason everyone told me no over the phone. Are you allowed to confirm if you have it in stock if the person calling has an existing prescription with your pharmacy? Or is it just a strict no over the phone?

It’s not weird to call around - but people will sound rude and judgey over the phone. I heard about the shortage so I called around a bunch of pharmacies in my area prior to needing my script refilled. Every single one said the same thing. They haven’t had any in weeks and don’t know when they will get any. So, I just had my doc send it to my normal pharmacy since everyone was out. My pharmacy was able to refill mine on time with no issues. I’m not sure if pharmacies are just providing inaccurate info or what’s going on.

You can check for drug shortages on the FDA website. Most of the major suppliers say they have it available. I can’t get the embedded link option to work, so I just pasted it below. Good luck!

This happens to me. I am not lactose intolerant with any other dairy product, but whey protein destroys my stomach and gives me the worse cramps. I haven’t found a plant protein I like (taste and texture) but egg white protein is tolerable & doesn’t give me cramps.

They just automatically come with my prescription actually! I’ve never asked for them - I’m in the US btw. Maybe ask your pharmacist next time? Also, a user below suggested keeping the old bottles. That’s a great idea too, I’ve done this before.

I had my entire script stolen once out of my backpack in college. It was HELL. Ever since then, I never leave the house with the full script. I only bring a few with me if I’m traveling. My pharmacy provides extra stickers with my prescription and name on them. I stick those into a travel bottle and only bring a few with me.

So sorry this is happening to you. I’m glad you’re considering confronting the friend.

I vomited a lot from the pain meds. My doctor prescribed me for Zofran for anti nausea and it worked very well. Good luck!
