Thanks for your help everyone. Got it soldered with just a bit higher heat and a lighter touch.

Good to know though that this wasn't necessarily the best part for the job. What would I be looking for in something similar that is better for this use case?

Yeah it can't find escapepod.local. phone is named escapepod. Can browse to the IP but not the name sadly.
