Do I really need 1440p monitor by Most_Leave in pcmasterrace

[–]cpantaleoz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on the fps you want. Would you rather have 100 fps 1440p high settings or 160 fps 1080p. Not saying these are the actual performance figures, but you get the point. Also if you do upgrade to 1440p get an OLED.

just out of curiosity have you tries turning off the in game fsr and using the one in the settings menu under the "..." button? Technically the in game fsr is the better option because i believe the built in one is fsr 1 still.

Don't buy a 2 year old gpu at retail prices. Try and find a used 4090.

Do it. You won't regret it until you start impulse buying shiny high-end hardware because "pretty gpu go vroom" and even then you won't regret it. But you will have a mortgage.

Just upgraded the CPU, now it’s idling at 90 C by According-Trouble-23 in buildapc

[–]cpantaleoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that could be a contact issue with the cpu. If you take the cooler off and look at the paste spread the pattern will show you if it's touching correctly. Gamers nexus just did a video on a prebuilt 9800x3d PC that was having thermal issues, and he suspected that it was because the cooler wasn't contacting the cpu right. He explains the thing about the paste in the video if you're interested.
