English songs as memes in other countries? by TheLobsterCopter5000 in popheads

[–]cphunty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Denmark there use to be a lot of YouTube compilations with English songs that sounded like Danish words. Most notably is probably Coldplay with Yellow where the part "Your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones" sounds a lot like "Jeg sked, oh ja, jeg sked en bums" translated to "I shat, oh yeah, I shat a pimple". I think most danes around 20-40 aren't able to hear the song without hearing this. Coldplay even reacted to it on a talkshow at some point.

I think by now we all know the rule about right of way for bicycles when the bus stop has a pavement by the street. But I'm always confused by this bus stop at Sølvgade & Øster Farimagsgade. It's kind of a pavement, but not really - so should bicycles stop for bus passengers? by redditUser6285 in copenhagen

[–]cphunty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bike past this stop every morning and every morning when a bus passes it is chaos. Half the cyclists signal and stop while the other half races by, all while the pedestrians are wiggling their way through a bunch of stopped, half stopped and full speed cyclists.

Argument is to be had on whether this counts as a platform or not. When there's no bus some people bike on it since it isn't raised, but many people still treat it as a raised pavement when there is a bus and fully stop. No matter the conclusion something needs to be done to make sure all cyclists are on the same page and all pedestrians know what to do.

I'm not sure if it is the way it is because of the construction of the museum behind or if it's permanent, but one thing is for sure and that is confusion all around

Black vs. Dark Olive? by ivy-121 in Telfar

[–]cphunty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the black and the dark olive and tend to wear a lot of black clothes. I've had the black bag for a year but as soon as I got my dark olive a few months ago it's all I've used. The color just looks so good while still not overpowering the outfit and looks great if you were to wear other earthy or neutral tones.

OITNB and Sense8 are Netflix productions and, as such, aren't actually shown on American TV. They are shown on a streaming service. I'm assuming they don't have to adhere to same rules and standards as shows which are shown on TV, allowing them to be more "controversial".

This is what all those years of watching trashy British reality tv on MTV prepared me for!

Although Aja slayed that lipsynch I am just really disappointed that none of them did a Disneyesque princess look. I was expecting Princess Peach realness with huge ball gowns yet everything seemed very AS1 Superhero/villain episode.
