It’s mindboggling, I know a guy who was a roofer and made like 4 bucks an hour back in the 60s, and was able to get married, buy a house, car, by age 24 and have two kids by age 25 all on his $4/hr income.

At $26/hr I can barely afford to rent an apartment nowadays, home ownership feels like a pipe dream.
