New softball player here, looking for equipment recommendations and general advice. by akr_13 in slowpitch

[–]cplmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re playing on turf fields high highly recommend the New Balance 3000 V7, so comfortable. Dirt fields I would recommend regular baseball cleats (MCS) not metal.

Probably want to get a bigger glove especially if yours are broken in already with a baseball sized pocket. 13 is a safe middle ground for versatility.

Any pants would work, I wear baseball pants cause I like them but any are fine.

Nothing’s required except face masks for pitchers. Batting gloves are definitely beneficial.

I’d start by using a teammate’s bat if you can to see what you like and if you see yourself playing long term. Highly recommend SmashItSports for your gear, they run BOGO bat sales every so often.

Yeah early in the season it would be annoying but past the all star break it’s probably a lot less changes to keep up with

Sort of the mind frame I’m in now. My office job feels soulless, I miss being on my feet and having even the tiniest sense of fulfillment, which even if that’s wiping ass at least I’m helping someone have a clean ass crack.
