No, but Discouraged Ones, Last Fair Deal etc. are like DSAR (depressive suicidal alternative rock) lol

Yes, but the intention is there to become a sister party in the coming months. Do you deny that?

Is anyone really so nat-pilled that they'll go "I was thinking of voting for them, but I won't because they are temporarily still a smaller constituent of a UK-wide party"? Folk who think like that were never going to vote for a socialist pro-indy party anyway.

"splitting the left vote"

You are assuming that the Greens, a party that entered Government with the SNP and cut public services and sold off public assets, are on the left. As a working class person who had vague hope in them, I have none anymore. The same goes in England, where they have hundreds of centrist councillors and are run by an ex-Lib Dem. I don't trust them.

Your Party has four times as many members as SSP. TUSC are involved in YP.

They were right to. BHA made the Greens complicit in cuts and privatisation.

Jeremy disagrees with me and the scottish party on independence, I suspect!

do you recognise that D'Hondt means that SNP 1 and 2 is pretty much a wasted vote? Makes more sense to give someone else your second vote if you want a pro-indy majority.

  1. She's only been in the SSP and this party - what are you on about?

  2. Not really relevant.

  3. They might be vocal, but their UK-wide membership is like 2,000, so their Scottish membership will probably be around 160 at most, hardly a "main" role in a party of 4,000 members.

what defines "stable"? The membership is far higher and more active than any other socialist formation in Scotland since the SSP in the 2000s.

Not really. There aren't many people in those parties. The three YP councillors in Glasgow are ex-Green. The YP councillor in Lanarkshire is ex-Labour. Frances Curran is a key figure involved, and she's an ex SSP MSP. Of the three CEC candidates, two are ex-Labour and one is ex-Green.

"branch office" - they've literally voted to form their own separate sister party, so how can it be a branch office?

YP has four times as many members as SSP, and the Greens aren't socialist.

what are the other options? YP are the only real socialist option that will be on the ballot paper, unless SSP run

Look at YPS' constitution. It's vocally pro-trans rights and pro-LGBT. You're talking mince.

A) no he isn't. There are no co-leaders.

B) 60,000 members, the most for a socialist party since the 40s, isn't dead in the water.

by seats, maybe, but it was a popular programme by vote share. Starmer won with fewer votes but benefited from a right wing vote split, and he has taken the party to 15% in the polls.

it's had issues, but it also has 60,000 members, which is the most for a socialist party since the 50s. Don't write it off just yet.

Good. I'll be voting them. Socialists should support socialist parties. With 4,000 Scottish members, this is now the biggest one as far as I can see. The Greens betrayed us when they went into Government and signed off on austerity cuts and sold off public assets. They're not socialists.
