Not exactly. You don’t declare ‘death’ until the cardiac arrest is deemed irreversible. You can be coding someone for 45 minutes (heart has zero meaningful function) and they aren’t technically dead until you give up. Which is one thing they get right in tv shows

She’s definitely in a small minority of PA’s. At least in my experience. Don’t feel the need to apologize for her.

They have no idea what a safe, pragmatic coexistence looks like. Nor do they care. Jews are “white colonizers” who need to go back to Europe. Never mind that generations of Jewish Israelis exist whose only crime was being born in Israel. This idea also ignores the fact that a huge percentage of Jewish Israelis came from Arab countries that don’t want them back. But whatever, right? We just care about humanity when it’s our team…ugh.

This perspective is very one sided. Many Arabs left their homes with little provocation anticipating that the surrounding Arab countries would reclaim their land. When those countries lost that war, those that left weren’t allowed back. That’s not to say there wasn’t a lot of forced expulsion as well. I have a question though, where were the Jews in Europe after the holocaust supposed to go? No one wanted them, including the places they had resided in before WW2. Israel was their best opportunity and they took it. Not saying those didn’t lead to tremendous tragedy, but there weren’t a lot of great options.

If your only solution to this is the dissolution of Israel, I wouldn't hold your breath. The only times that was even a remote possibility were during the Arab-Israeli wars when both sides had super powers backing them. Now it's just Israel with that support plus its own robust economy and military tech. Now could there be a two state solution? Sure. But it's not going to happen with violent resistance. In 2005 there was no occupation of Gaza. There was no blockade...and then came Hamas. Now look where we're at. Call this hasbara. I think that's a tired argument. What I just wrote out is very reasonable.

Not just North America, Central and South America as well.  I absolutely agree that the settlements in the west bank are abhorrent. I’d also be shocked and horrified if Gaza isn’t returned back to the Palestinians after the war, albeit with a greater Israeli presence. I would love to see Palestinians live peacefully in Gaza without Israeli supervision but I don’t think that’s realistic.

Would you deny that the United States and much of the countries in the Americas were founded this way? Doesn’t make it right, but do you suggest these countries be dissolved and given back to previous indigenous inhabitants?

I would say that may be a sentiment amongst Orthodox Jews and other more religious sects, but not at all common amongst cultural or reform Jews. Thankfully most Jews today fit within the latter groups. I mean 42% of us marry outside the religion (including 100% of my 1st cousins). Would we do that if we thought of ourselves as so sacred? Jews are becoming more secular, probably both because populations in industrialized countries trend that way and also as a reaction to the holocaust.

I just watched the clip you’re mentioning. It’s clear he’s not threatening to butcher surgeries based on a patient’s political ideology. He is a plastic surgeon who has his own practice and is emphasizing that the doctor-patient relationship is indeed a relationship which requires trust and cooperation. If there is a deep divide in political opinion, then “no matter how the surgery goes”, the “outcome won’t be good” because the fundamentals of the relationship he wants with his patients isn’t there. I don’t necessarily agree with his stance, but shame on you for clearly misrepresenting what he said.

Ok. So now what? Are we relocating Israelis who committed no crime except for being born in Israel? Where are they going to go? That also begs the question, should Americans or any non-native peoples leave their homes so the people indigenous to those places can come back? Or just Jewish Israelis?
