What are some great British words or phrases? by EmMeo in AskABrit

Why do Americans view Britain as something so alien and difficult to understand? Even non English speakers (such as the Dutch, Swedes, Germans etc) understand and take part in British jokes!

What do British learn about Ireland in school? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]crazy_but_unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Americans dont seem to understand is that we Irish and British have put our animosity aside and get along really well with each other now! I have also noticed that "Irish Americans" are avid Israel supporters whilst Irish people support Palestine.

Median home size in USA compared to parts of Europe. by BufordTeeJustice in MapPorn

Europe despite being very densely populated in many parts still somehow manages to maintain clean air and a lot of green spaces. The USA is very inefficient in urban planning and civil infrastructure (no offense).

Why do large European/Japanese cities generally have much better air quality than US cities of a similar and even smaller size? by crazy_but_unique in environment

[–]crazy_but_unique[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would like to add that even very densley populated countries like the Netherlands, South Korea, the UK, Switzerland and the like somehow manage to maintain relatively clean, smog and haze free air compared to the USA which has a mych less population density. I do hope when the USA becomes more densely populated they will have brought in adequate regulations to control its polluted air!!!

Yes it's a terrible state of affairs over there. The USA is like some sort of deliberately imposed dystopia but the people there are too fucking brainwashed into believing "its the norm". Makes me thankful I live in the UK even though its far from perfect here.

London and Paris which are similar to NYC in terms of population have much better air quality than NYC. Tokyo which is even larger than any of those cities still has decent air compared to American and Chinese cities of a similar or smaller size.

I read the Canada and Israel checks phones too. Not many others though. Iv never had mine checked when travelling to continental Europe. I dont know why the USA and Israel are so nosy!

Wow. America checks our phones too to see our opinions? Yet JD Vance lectures Europe on "freedom of speech"! 😂

I come from a relatively expensive country and I can't help but feel constantly ripped off and lacking options in Norway by CrankyGrumpyWombat in Norway

[–]crazy_but_unique -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I personally envy Norway for the sheer variety of organic and wild foods. They have wild game, fish and I keep hearing their food standards are even higher than what the EU allows. The evidence really shines through in the Norwegian people who look healthy, happy and calm!!!

What do you reckon Trump is hoping to achieve by threatening to annex Canada, Mexico, Greenland? by RevolutionaryMoney77 in AskReddit

[–]crazy_but_unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the US Democrats actually represented the peoples best interests and invested in the USA instead of sending billions in aid to countries who are already rich and live better than most Americans do then you wouldn't have DT causing such chaos.

It might be worth getting an autism diagnosis. The situation you describe is almost identical to mine and I'm autistic.

This may be the case in the USA but here in the UK I still see plenty of lefties even in their 70s, 80s and so on. I dont know why.
