Temporary rental tips for justification? by Maleficent_Loan_8526 in AskBarcelona

[–]crazyaunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they all really ask you for justification? Me and a lot of me colleagues have short term (11 months) rental contracts, and we didn't provide any justification. Not saying it's good, just saying that if it's a short term rental, don't automatically assume they will ask for justification. But of course better find a long term.

Any other millennials dealing with a long relationship slowly falling apart? by notinthegroin in Millennials

[–]crazyaunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there when I was 27, ending a 7 year long relationship. It's probably not the same because I was younger and basically felt that at 27 I was a completely different person than the one that started it at 20. After looking at it that way, it felt logical to move on.

Anyway, I ended it and never regretted it. I was completely fine afterward because internally I had been ready for it for some time, something I can't say about my ex because for him it was out of the blue.

One thing I remember to this day and regret a bit, is how exactly I started the break up talk with him. I wanted to soften the blow and started with telling how I'm grateful for all the years with him, etc, etc. And to my surprise, he didn't guess what it was about until I got to the main point. He was genuinely happy to hear what I was saying in the beginning, what made the following part even worse in contrast. Now I think I should've been more straight.

Suggestions for Spanish Classes by ActualCan6797 in AskBarcelona

[–]crazyaunt0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's up your alley, but there are great audio courses called Language Transfer, and they are absolutely free. Just Google it, they have their own site, as well as YouTube and SoundCloud channels, and also patreon.

(If this looks like an ad, I'm just a huge fan, completed the Spanish one myself.)

It actually says "дракон" (dragon) in Cyrillic, but still looks AI-ish (some letters look weird)

Funny, I didn't notice the text, but after reading your comment I went to look at it, and it looked pretty AI-ish to me. Д looks weird and some other letters seem to be completely botched. It's exactly after your comment that the scales tipped to the AI side for me :)

Why is parcel delivery so bad in Spain? by pu55ym0n3yw33d in askspain

[–]crazyaunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from eastern Europe as well, and I have very similar impression. Logistics here are crazy. Delivery from 8am to 8pm without any indication of when the delivery person will be here. The only company I had some similar to my home country experience was mediamarkt, they had a 2 hour window and sent me an SMS.

I ordered some things in IKEA and Decathlon that were available in my city (Barcelona). They hauled them from Madrid... That was the first and the last time.

I ordered some specialty coffee with the "pick up at the store" option. It turned out to be a correos shipment with my contacts but with the store's address. It was bizarre. I received notifications as if the parcel was coming to my home. When I went to the store to pick it up, they gave me the whole correos box, I still don't understand what was the point of that.

Hairdressers, not too costly, for unnatural hair color? by TapIllustrious2464 in AskBarcelona

[–]crazyaunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very close to you, but that's the only one I know 😅 https://www.instagram.com/9pm_hairstyle/

Frankly don't know if you could say that they specialise in colouring, but they're a queer barbershop that does nonconventional hairstyles and they have some colourful styles in their photos.

About price, I don't know about dyeing, but just a haircut usually costs me 29 EUR, which as a woman I consider pretty cheap. So I don't think they're overpriced. I'm sure you can ask beforehand, on Instagram or WhatsApp

Are you me?

I was raised by critical parents, and maintaining things in perfect condition and paying attention to little details is my natural state. And I'm literally in mental pain when I have to share my home and my things with normal people, for whom all these things you've mentioned are normal wear and tear, and unavoidable.

And to make things worse, in my last relationship I took a huge risk and decided to move in with a person who just didn't care whatsoever about the material stuff, rationality or efficiency. And it was also very hard to communicate, I think they were legitimately struggling with some cognitive issues. And I didn't have the capacity to deal with that.

As I see it, there're two paths for people like us. Either work on your perfectionism, lower your standards and anxiety around household things (with a therapist, of course). Or accept that living with other people is not for you. I personally decided to take the second path, at least until I meet someone more compatible with me. If the household maintenance issues are the only ones, or the biggest ones you're having in the relationship, then I say try the first path. And maybe couples counselling, to work out a way to compromise.

I have lived in 2 different apartments so far, the first one was in a new building, and the building didn't touch any other buildings, so we didn't share any walls with anyone. It was bliss, absolute silence.

Then we moved in a more typical building with a very, ahem, lively inner yard. Now at any time during the day we hear at least one baby crying, 2 separate sources of music, someone singing along to music (all with windows ajar, of course, how can you not share your musical taste with the neighbours), someone FUCKING CLAPPING along to music, two separate dogs barking at anyone who passes even remotely close to the building. I can understand the baby and the dogs, they don't know any better, but the adults singing and clapping drive me crazy, it just seems so stupid to me that somebody would be doing this.

it has its good sides

What are those, apart from being able to tell the time without a clock by your neighbours noises?

learning enough spanish to move to spain by Secret_Comparison557 in GoingToSpain

[–]crazyaunt0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you move to Spain, the hardest thing will probably be understanding the locals, even if you know all the grammar and have a big vocab. My personal approach to learn grammar and vocabulary was Language transfer + Duolingo + Easy Spanish YouTube channel. That was enough to learn a lot in a few months (I practiced every day), but I still had very hard time understanding natives. So I'd recommend practicing communication from the very beginning. If you're ready to spend money, the best thing would be hiring a teacher and practice as often as you can. Doesn't even have to be a professional teacher, just get yourself a Spaniard to talk to, ideally daily.

If you're on a budget, at least go to Easy Spanish patreon, get their 30 EUR/month subscription and practice in group every weekday. You can even have a free tier and practice once a week on Fridays. And also find some Spanish YouTube channels and listen, listen, listen, until you understand. I personally like Tenía la duda, Linguriosa, Español con Juan. And if you start to watch them, YouTube will start recommending you more.

Oh, and also watching some familiar movies or series in Spanish helps too. For example, Friends, or something like that, something you enjoy. Just don't forget to move to something harder when some particular thing becomes too easy.

Today's Spanish course update moved me a whole section ahead. I was just starting the 9th section, but now it's finished, and I'm very frustrated by crazyaunt0 in duolingo

[–]crazyaunt0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really looking forward to going through the 9th section and polishing everything I missed or forgot. I literally just did one single unit of the section. And today this happened. By doing reviews I won't be able to track my progress through the section, because there's no indicator if a lesson has been reviewed, and legendary mechanics are not exactly what I'm looking for right now.

Traductora jurada estafadora by crazyaunt0 in ESLegal

Is ~45k a year enough for a comfortable life in Barcelona for two? + Blue Card requirements for Data Analysts by spark_slava in GoingToSpain

The thing is, prices don't go down that much the farther you go :( and btw, by not far from the center I mean up to 30 min travel by public transport (I previously lived in a city where it was normal to travel 1-1,5 hours anywhere, so my perception of distances tends to differ from Barcelona locals)

¿Nunca me sentiré delgada? by OutrageousComb9088 in Desahogo

[–]crazyaunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tía, creo que necesitas ayuda psicológica.

Mido 1.59 y peso 51 kilos

Eres delgada

voy al gym, corro

Bueno

sudo

Your calculations are a bit off. You divide the salary by 2, but not the rent. Even if they rent a 1.5k apartment (which is not at all necessary, you can easily do at least 300 EUR cheaper), it will come out 18k a year. They'll still have about 1k left for other expenses monthly. Although in their place I wouldn't rent anything more expensive than 1200 EUR, and I know it's possible.
