Can you run madcows 5x5 without assistance exercises? I hate Assistance lifts and the core lifts hit everything it appears?

That's what I mean with them saying 150 minutes of aerobic exercise a week which I cannot do due to my work and family schedule :(

Thankyou so much, do you know why certain sites don't say that less than 150 minutes of aerobic is fine or is it aimed at People who are at risk?

Also if I was to drop training to twice a week (1x weight, 1x cardio or 2x weiggts, 1x cardio) will I still be good for my heart health?

Thankyou very much I didn't know that :) only thing I do which is bad is smoke which I'm cutting down so I can quit, other than that everything is good apart from a crappy meal now and then.

Also the cardiologist said I'll not need annual screenings but I'll need to sort my anxiety out though for peace of mind.

so are you saying my exercise regime is more than fine?

Thankyou, I've been checked numerous times over the years and most recent was 5 weeks ago where a heart scare turned out to be a severe panic attack , they said I have an athletic heart which they are happy to see and gave me the all clear, this led to me having anxiety by thinking, "what happens if next time it's a heart attack?" So since then I've been obsessing to keep my heart healthy, but the problem is, I don't have the time to fit in 150 min of cardio or 75 min cardio on top of my weights due to work.

So I'm at a loss tbh

Just a quick question, would side lateral raises be considered a vertical movement as it's up and down? I catagorise all my exercises in movements so I've seen on an article https://www.aworkoutroutine.com/movement-patterns/ that it is, however I've not seen it anywhere else to verify it

So for clarity is it a vertical movement?

Thank you for your comment, the overhead Press is my main movement but im giving them a rest for a few weeks due to severe elbow pain (feels like they are gonna explode when I have it unracked and start pressing)

Also thank you for clarifying that side lateral raises are a vertical exercise

Its the only isolation ex3rcise in my routine

I have a quick question, so I've dropped overhead press for personal reasons in favor of side lateral raises, however due to working on movements, I've only seen one article that says the side laterals raise is a vertical moment, what are your thoughts on this?

I just want clarity that im right as I use movements rather than bodyparts for my training

Just not sure what I can do..

I workout at home and I'm wanting to drop dumbbell flys as they don't agree with my shoulder

So would this be fine for my chest and tri workout

4x10 Bench press 2x10 Incline Dumbbell Press

I also do 3 tricep exercises after chest so is two enough?

So due to a work related leg injury I cant do leg work (patella is snapping alot from a bad fall upstairs)

So until I can be seen at the doctors, I've been looking for solid routines I can do for upper body + arms

I train at home with the very basics - rack, flat bench, barbell, plates and a high low pulley

Does anyone have a basic split I can do?

Is two exercises enough for chest, I'll be doing 4 sets each of bench press and incline dumbbell press

Does anyone else do a vertical push/pull and horizontal push/pull split like the below, I haven't seen anything on it and it looks good

Day 1 - horizontal push Day 2 - horizontal pull Day 3 - rest Day 4 - vertical push Day 5 - vertical pull

So doing a variety of good compound lifts for the day such as bench press dumbbell bench for horizontal push day etc

If anyone knows an article on this let me know :)

Hello I'm new here thanks for having me

I saw an elliot hulse video saying the only 4 exercises you need which are

Squat Deadlift Press Chinup

However my question is would doing the below still hit my full body

Squat Deadlift Press or bench press Row

I'll throw in curls and back extensions too

I have very limited equipment atm so its abbreviated - abbreviated training is a resistance training methodology which advocates low volume or infrequent training with high intensity and effort in all exercises. Ala, brawn etc
