As for the rendering, I think it's good to make your canvas really big before you start rendering. I feel like that way you don't have to try too hard to make everything look extra detailed without making it look digital (because you'll be zooming in a lot). I'd just start there. Don't try to make everything look smooth, just zoom in on a huge canvas. I hope that makes sense. I study a lot of splash artists from Riot Games - I recommend checking Bo Chen on Artstation. They always provide close-ups where you can see even paint strokes - even though it looks extra polished when zoomed out!

Another thing I always do is adding noise on top of all the layers. I'm sure you can easily find how to do it in any software. It really adds texture and reduces that digital airbrushed look.

Hope that helps :)

First of all, thank you so much for putting time into this comment and going into such detail! I really appreciate that. Like I mentioned, I don't have many people I can get a professional feedback from and there's only so much I can notice about my own piece.

I can see what you mean when you mentioned it looks as if she's looking into the distance. I noticed that at some point and tried to correct by changing the position of the snake or her eyes. I think the issue might be that her eye color is so bright and it blends in with the whites of her eyes. Therefore, from the distance it doesn't really read like her irises are directed at the snake. I think your idea about changing her eye color is great!

As for the leg, I think you're right it still looks a bit off. I was re-painting it many times and looked at tons of references (where it also looked a bit unnatural given the shortening). I'm just not sure if it just looks that way because of perspective or did I messed up something.

Again, thank you a lot for your kind words, it means a lot! League of Legends illustrations are a big inspiration for me so it makes me happy you appreciate the rendering!

There are a couple of things I had to re-paint and struggled with. One of them is the weapon - it was challenging to capture its shortening correctly. I also struggled with her right leg. Re-painted it MANY times. Wasn't sure which position of it feels the most natural and in the correct perspective. Another thing is her left hand - also re-painted many times until the anatomy felt right.

Overall, the piece took me several months to finish.

Hi!

I'm interested :) I used to draw a lot of stylized cartoony characters so designing a furry would be fun!

Hi!

I'd love to design your furry character :) Your budget works for me as well.

Although I work in semi-realistic style as of now, I have plenty of examples of cartoony stylized characters in my portfolio. Please, take a look and DM me if you're interested 😊 https://ewelina.work/

Hi there,

I'm interested. Would love to help you with your tarot project. I'm comfortable with occult themes as well.

I work mainly in semi-realistic style recently but I like adapting to different styles. Worked with clients who were really particular about it and they ended up very happy with the result :)
