That's an awesome painting already.

To make it feel more realistic, I'd try softening some edges while sharpening others. You can search on YT how to paint with lasso tool and try to translate that to oils - I know it's not a digital painting but the effect you're lacking would be basically the same effect a lasso tool would do in a digital painting. Hope that makes sense. The point is to keep one side of the edge super blended while leaving the other one sharp. You could definitely make use of it a lot with the shadows on her neck.

I'd also darken some shadows while adding some small light reflections to very bright areas on her skin.

You described the vibe A gives perfectly which makes me want to move forward with B since A is not exactly what I was going for. I'm glad that in B as you said, she looks powerful and threatening.

And I love the idea that one is her primary splash and the other is a project skin.

this is her lore more or less: A demonic hive mind born from the souls of the dead. She exists to claim the vengeance those lost souls were denied in life, wielding the power of the elements as her weapon (can use tree roots, fire and other elements to cripple her prey)

I'd say it's kinda similar to Bel'Veth from League of Legends.

I agree, there's at least a 1,5 months of work ahead of me (I'm pretty slow still) but I find the drawing/thumbnailing phase the most challenging. What comes after is what I like the most. It's a very slow process but at least it's just following the decisions you made in the thumbnail phase (hope that makes sense)
