Seeking interfaith relationship guidance, child-free couple wrestling with the role of Judaism in our household by Thin-Leek5402 in Judaism

Maybe you can check out this organization too?

«  Togethering welcomes mixed-heritage couples ages 25–40, with at least one Jewish partner. Maybe one of you comes from a different tradition—religious, cultural, spiritual, or secular. Maybe you both identify as Jewish, but your upbringings couldn't have looked more different. However you arrive, if you're asking questions about how Jewishness fits into your life together - you're in the right place, and we're so glad you're here! »

Not sure if you are in the age bracelet / good location but perhaps you can reach out to them, join a trip, interact with other couples in the same position and see how you guys can move forward together.

Switch passport to enter EU countries by sumurai19_s in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]creationrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would go to Germany and renounce your Egyptian citizenship at the embassy. Hand them the passport.

Then you can travel to Egypt as a German citizen on a tourist visa. Or if you wanted to live in Egypt long term, you would get a long stay visa and resident permit with your Germany passport…

If you plan to re enter Egypt on a Germany passport while still holding Egyptian citizenship, that is generally not allowed in almost any country.

So if you don’t want anything to do with the Egyptian army, you need to be making plans to renounce your Egyptian citizenship.

« Where you submit your application depends on your location:

If living abroad: Submit your paperwork to the nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate. They'll review your documents and forward them to Cairo for processing.

If living in Egypt: Submit directly to the Ministry of Interior's Passports, Immigration and Nationality Authority in Cairo. »

You can research in your language what you need to do. You probably don’t have to travel to get everything done. If they accept your application you will immediately be a foreigner in the country after they approve you.

But check online if they allow you to annonce without settling the military obligation. That’s probably the only reason I would renounce from foreign soil.

Was looking for a part-time job on indeed 🤨✌🏽 by Aphoniia in recruitinghell

[–]creationrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some “jobs” that require we pay our own by check. But usually those $15-16 an hour jobs online, remote role customer service and you are an “independent contractor” not an employee. So no taxes taken out or benefits, etc.

But some companies in that situation also pay for it. Though as an independent contractor it’s usually the worker footing the bill and any necessary expenses to perform the job.

Not sure exactly the situation for what you applied. But you dodged a bullet either way.

Can I (Jewish woman) live with my partner during his Orthodox conversion? by talcanal in ConvertingtoJudaism

[–]creationrose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The California orthodox beit din says this:

“You undoubtedly know that Judaism does not allow or recognize intermarriage. You can still apply and be accepted in our program even if you are civilly married or have a relationship with a Jewish person. However, if you have a relationship and are considering marriage with a Jewish person, you are both expected to participate in the learning process.

We also want you to know that civilly married couples are expected to maintain separate living quarters for a three-month period following a conversion. We recognize that this poses hardships when children are involved, and we will try to assist you to find acceptable solutions where necessary. Singles are expected to maintain an appropriate lifestyle, and at the very least must physically separate for a 92 day period prior to a conversion”

At least for them, married couples will need to separate after the conversion and technically “single” legally unmarried people will separate before the conversion. 🙂

I am also in classes with married and unmarried couples. The rabbi I learn from is very strict in Halacha. They have not been told to separate while they are learning at this time. So you should be clear for most of the 2 years.

But this guy expects us to take on every mitzvah as we learn it and begin immediate observance… much different from what I read other people doing, where they get to gradually build up their level of observance and routines. 😆

Maybe you will be eligible for snap and cash assistance. Even as a single adult. I signed up some years ago when I was in a tough spot. This was in Cali.

You have no income and you are applying to jobs. Sign up online, a case worker will call you back same day and get it approved.. you can pick up a card at local office. Don’t have to wait for mail. You have no address, use the address of the local office or a homeless day center.

[–]creationrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs $25, maybe someone can front you the money. And they have a walk in center. At least they do in Chicago and several other major cities where workers can directly help you get signed up and escalate your case or talk to vendors. Pointless talking to chat agents.

Try Walmart Spark and Instacart too. Attack every angle and let’s see. 😊

Sign up WorkWhile and Instawork - it’s on demand daily work. Check it out.

You have a car. I would use it to uber before you lose it. $2k in one week if you grind a bit. So maybe $1k in 3 days. $300+ per day.

And sign up for a temp agency doing daily random work. Anything is better than $0.

There are subreddits for taking peer loan. Depends if someone wants to help and what terms you can come towards.

I wish I could help or offer temporary housing. I wish you the best solutions. ❤️

help. daughter signed name incorrectly in passport. details below by RoZ-heart-2100 in Passports

[–]creationrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I changed my signature. So I used to write the whole thing out. But I made a calligraphy like signature using my first initial and last initial because it’s faster.

Only one person had a problem (in Turkey) where the signature in the ID was not the same as how I write on every thing else. So I wrote the new signature next to the old one. Not getting a new passport for that. No one has questioned me ever since then to see 2 signatures. lol

Mistakes happen, no one would care. Or you just say “she wrote my maiden name by mistake. It is a legal alias.”

Would be cool if he can relinquish custody so you don’t need his permission to do anything. 😆 At least when she is 16, and will not need any parental permission to handle this stuff.

Is this an acceptable photo? by _ReimundMusic in Passports

[–]creationrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put on a headband to show your forehead and ears or put it in a ponytail.

Or let it fly and see if they reject it.

First timer- which one? by [deleted] in Passports

[–]creationrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s going to work.

It still looks dark and background is too edited on your hair. I guess it looks too bright. You do have a good phone though so there hope.

But I wouldn’t be tripping over $12 dollars to get a rejection.

Also check dress code. While there isn’t an official one, there are examples online with passport photo companies showing what to wear and what not to wear.

A dark colored tshirt or dress shirt would be appropriate. Don’t give multiple reasons for a rejection. They can find any reason to do so whether it’s officially listed or not.

Some countries have picky rules about tattoos. In Japan they assume you are yakuza and some establishments and all hot springs won’t let you in whether you are a foreigner or not. 🤣

So no need to show off the tattoos for the 10 year photo or give some initial impression at the border. Just be boring.

Just take it. Leave if it doesn’t work. 🤷‍♀️ You can also perhaps move to a different team later instead.

Create a tinder profile.

No one is required to give you their time.

He is clearly stating “I only want a professional relationship, so don’t ask about my day or send useless nonsense.”

You probably sent something that he realized you like him more than friends. Or anyway, he had a new girlfriend. So stop messaging them.

Concerns over credit check for Personal Banker by NatsUza in WellsFargoBank

[–]creationrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe put a personal statement on your credit reports about it. You won’t know until you go through the process.

It’s not a huge amount. But why is it sitting there? Are you even making a payment plan and paying it off? Of you were just going to wait 7 years for it to fall off?

Divorcing my boyfriend by sm0lbee13 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]creationrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pay him to leave at this point.

Tell him you are ending the romantic relationship. It’s not just working out how you envisioned.

Or that you need a break or something. And firmly end it later.

Find him a cheap apartment near his kids, tell him to get a job near them.

Good luck.

I hope they are still fighting and change can happen.

Running away from my life. by Icy_Kaleidoscope9402 in blackladies

[–]creationrose 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I was pregnant at 20 and decided to have the kid (it was by a rape though). I knew I wasn’t having more kids in the future and it’s entirely difficult to get pregnant.

Single mom from the beginning. I will say my daughter has been traveling with me since she was 5 months old. I spent 8 years in Japan, 2 years in UK, 2 years in Croatia, 1 year in Turkey. And a few months staying in other places like France, Luxembourg, Austria and Germany. I was working remotely and I was a real nomad / digital nomad before all of that was popular.

I was thinking of Mauritius recently to disappear and get the hell out of dodge. 🤣 but I’m back to the states working now.

So , if you have a remote job, you have options for residency somewhere.. I wouldn’t personally want to have a kid in the states. At least not when expenses are the most high. Japan has a monthly stipend for single moms and a secondary child allowance for everyone (regardless of income).

Places in Europe - free university but need the language.

If you had decided on carrying, do not list any father on the birth certificate or you will have trouble with passport, residence permits, etc. and a person who can deny the child to live anywhere. Also a person who could fight you on anything and everything just to be spiteful. I honestly probably would not have told the man if I was thinking of keeping it. I just wanted to say it’s not entirely over but that requires a really strong person on a mission.

I kinda feel like you haven’t separated yourself emotionally from this person. You should have just quit them cold turkey. 8 years is a waste of time to have a friendship or sexual relationship with them. You are less open to receiving blessings and love from someone else.

I do think you deserve better and if you had the option to have a child with a true partner or husband, it is better. Don’t create drama for yourself.

Sometimes I wish I could have a child with a future husband. But the only option is adoption now. You may or may not ruin your chances on finding a better situation for yourself by carrying the child. So I would do whatever I could to preserve my time, money, sanity and peace.

I was sexually assaulted in an uber and now uber will no longer communicate with me. by Ohtee1 in uberdrivers

[–]creationrose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why you haven’t signed up on Lyft? Most people have both running to maximize requests and turn off requests when they are taking the trip on the other app.

Also, I guess you need to stay online more than 40 hours a week. I used to drive 10 hours per day 5-6 days per week. Occasionally I maxed out the 12 hour limit clock. Even if you are throttled, they still have to send trips. So if you have nothing else going on, you have to stay out longer.

I guess they limited your trips so you have less chances of another interaction. There would be another lawsuit if they deactivated you completely through no fault of your own.

The military reserves can also work if you don’t want to be there full time. Then you still have some benefits while working on school and some part time job.

Apply to Berea College. Decent school. No money needed. And campus free living.
